Oh my word, I cannot believe that first block. I don't know anything about mid-century fireplaces, but I recently designed a block like this based on a dress I saw in inStyle Magazine! This is a little bit weird to me. But now I know the block I designed will look fabulous. Thanks for posting!

They all look amazing! I can't wait to see mine in person :) I need to get myself going too and finish the ones for Robin and Blair.
I love them all, but the fireplace is my favorite. The colors and the block sizing are so 1950's.
