Spring to Finish Again?

I spent most of the weekend moving and working in the yard (the lilacs and spirea are in full bloom...ooooooh lovely! Not much sewing, but I did manage to make these. My sons have been invited to a baby shower and they asked me to put together a gift for their friend. The couple is having a boy so I cruised my stash and found this Alexander Henry juicy jungle fabric. I made a couple of burp cloths and a small quilt to match. I need to finish up the quilt today. The quilt is simply a giant log cabin block. It's about 40 x 40. I think it will make a nice "throw on the floor" quilt. It's good to have a stash to pull from.

This is the prize for the 'Spring to Finish' challenge, an Orla Kiely pillow cover, coasters to match and 1/2 yard of one of my favorite fabrics. We had 247 finishes! That's fantastic. The random number generator chose Pat, of Bell Creek Quilts as the winner. Pat had 2 finishes. Congrats Pat! Drop me an email with your address and I'll drop your package in the mail.

Anina of Twiddletails reminded me that it's still spring and she suggested Spring to Finish 2. I'm committed to continuing through May, so let's keep going. Same rules apply...just keep the button on your blog or add it if you're just joining, you count your finishes and decide what is a finish for you. The challenge will end midnight, May 31. We have more days this time so it should be no problem exceeding our April total. The prize will be fabric, of course, and something made by me. Want to join me?

I'm off to finish this quilt.

  3. I would like to join I think, I haven't been spending as much time doing crafts as I would like. Now does this apply to finishing quilts only or any crafty project we have on the go? And which button do I need to put on my blog? Love the birdie fabric from the last prize too by the way :)

  11. So the one I started in the middle of April and finished May 2nd, does that count???!!!

  12. This kept me on track for last month so count me in again for another month. Since I am fairly new to quilting I do not have a large stash to finish but I figure if I start something and finish it I am going to count it, I hope that is OK.

Have a great week and smell the lilacs for me. We are in a new house with no lilacs and they are my favorite. I may have to go cut some that are hanging over someone's fence or something.

  13. I'm in . . . again. The flu kept me from finishing (and entering my 1 finish) for April. Hope May is better!

  26. One suggestion that would make things easier for you, next time.

    Have one entry per comment.

That way you don't have to count and you spend more time sewing.

And you will end up with a whole bunch of comments which is ALWAYS awesome!

Well, how could more Spring to Finish be a bad thing? I've even managed to add a few more unfinished projects to the pile, so it'll be good to have another "deadline". :)
