Monday...gotta do

Spent the weekend pretty much lazing around. Too many hours spent in the studio simply staring at the design wall. Ever have one of those weekends? So now, it's gotta do Monday.
This quilt has to be bound and ready to hop on the plane with my hubby in the a.m. The baby is late and so am I.
This is a design I'm playing with inspired by some leftovers and a song. It's not a gotta do...it's one of the things that distracted me from my to do list.
This just needs to be quilted so I can share the tutorial for it this week. Should've had this done by now.
I really didn't get a thing done this weekend except make more messes. I've gotta get this cleaned up...I'm having company tonight. Do you think they'll notice?

  2. If you ask me, a creative studio that doesn't show signs of use, be it a project in the works or a full-blown disaster area, just isn't right. On principle, I never cleaning my work room for company's sake. Unless they're going to be sleeping in there, in which case it gets REALLY clean. ; )

  10. I like everything you are working on. I really like the orange baby quilt. Have you shown that before? I would like to see more. The next one looks like the pattern I saw called Chinese Coins. I really want to try something like that. I love the interaction of color.

  11. I too have days where I need to work on my “to do list” but just lay around accomplishing nothing! However, my lazy days help me feel more energetic so I can get back to work.

  14. I think it must have been the weather. We had your weekend weather here today and all I did was wander from place to place and straighten up a little and go nothing done in the studio.

  18. Hi Jacquie,it's ok to have a messy studio or home apparently. It means you're live normally, still work and creative :) Just enjoy ..

  20. I think that if you left them out your guests would not only notice, but be exceedingly jealous of your talent and motivation. They look lovely - and not at all a mess.

  26. nah, they'll just think you were worried they'd get cold.

Sometimes I have to just sit and look at a project. It's like the brain is figuring it out without my knowledge...I just sit and look. Then, all of a sudden, an idea will spark from all that looking and away I'll go....

I gotta get sister's quilt done THIS WEEK!!! yikes...I've spent too many nights asleep under it instead of quilting on it!! sigh.
