Embracing Fall

It's been terribly dreary here...gray, chilly. Yesterday the sun emerged...if only for a day. I'm trying to embrace the colors and feeling of fall in a positive way.

I finished the 11 panels for this quilt. I had to take out the graph paper to help me put them together in the way I envisioned. It's rare that I take to pen and paper, but this one is stumping me a bit.
I do love the fabrics, the color and I think I'm going to love the quilt. I'm trying to focus on bed sized quilts these days. This one is going to be a full size. Hopefully it will be a top later today.

  4. I am tempting a similar pattern about two quilts down the road. i have already picture the process: use paper grid and color in the lay out. Colors - no idea which combo but most likely hand dyed fabric. No way am I winging this.

  5. Oooh! So warm and magical feeling. Reminds me of the Badlands of ND! ;-)

It's cloudy today here as well. Yesterday was full of hope and sunshine though, so I'm thankful for that!

And...$59 plane tickets to the SW are looking mighty fine about now. lol

  12. The colors are stunning. You were on my mind a LOT this weekend. I moseyed on down to fabric depot for the sale this weekend and tried picking out fabrics for Son No. 2's quilt. I kept thinking. Oh how I wish Jacquie were here. ;o) I think I got some good ones, and I'm anxious to get going on it now.
Thanks for all the inspiration! ooxx`jodi

  37. I love autumn colours. Here in Oz we don't have a strong colour change in autumn. Everything is brown and faded from the hot, dry summer so when the autumn rains come, everything turns green. Too funny, although the few trees that drop their leaves are dormant.

I'm looking forward to seeing your latest creation!

    Hugs - Shari
