'Monet's Flower Garden' is complete. One UFO out of the closet and finished. One down, many to go.
You can see the painting that was the inspiration for this quilt here. I think I achieved that 'dreamy' feeling I was going for. It only took me a year.
I love it. It definitely has that dreamy, floaty feeling. A perfect quilt to bring some summer sunshine into dreary fall and winter!!!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty; I can absolutley see the inspiration from Monet! Heading into darker and shorter days we need a bit of fabulos flowers and pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteI sure feels good to finish an UFO, doesn't it?
Lovely, lovely, lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is one nice quilt.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jacquie! I really have to get to my UFO's.
ReplyDeleteSo much to celebrate - a UFO finish, a beautiful quilt inspired by a painting, recycling pre-loved vintage sheets...and making space in the closet for another new project!! Lovely quilt Jacquie.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely resembles the painting, and a year?? Better late than never! (I've had a cross stitch half finished in the basement for {eeek} 6 years or so?)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the low contrast and how blended it is. Congrats on finishing a long time UFO! That's gotta feel so good.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you got this one finished. It was one of my favorites of yours.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I've been dying to see how this one would turn out.
ReplyDeleteI think it turned out prettier than the painting, honestly... There is something very special about those vintage fabrics, maybe some kind of esthetic connection to my childhood?
ReplyDeleteI remember commenting on this when you were first working on it...LOVE how it turned out! I'm still plugging away on my UFO's as well.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful. Great job!

I do believe that you've achieved your objective. A very fresh and, well, yes, an exciting quilt; but very soothing, like water.
ReplyDeleteJacquie!!!
