Finished...Whew!

Just in time too. This quilt is going to be part of an auction in Omaha for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It's made up of blocks from this tutorial (nice to know I could make use of them) and I made a few additional sections to make it a little bigger. I hope it raises a good amount of money. My nephew was recently diagnosed and it's a tough road for adults and even more challenging when you're a youngster.
Has spring sprung where you are? I spent a few minutes outside with my camera today capturing this year's redbuds in bloom. The woods surrounding our house are sprinkled with the purply pink lace of redbud blossoms. Rejuvenation and rebirth surrounding me inspire a fresh attitude and the feeling that I can accomplish anything.
I was thinking that it may be time for another Spring to Finish Challenge. Anyone up for that? I don't have loads of time to organize anything too complex, but I'm inspired...maybe we could be inspired together? Let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can put together.

  19. Beautiful quilt, and such a generous act.

It's kind of funny how just signing up for Joy in the New Year motivated me — I actually felt accountable, even though there was no real consequence for not meeting my goal. So, yes, please! I'm in for a Spring to Finish challenge.

  29. Generous - the quilt up for auction, your sharing of the tutorial, and another spring to finish challenge. I'm in if you do it. I spent a little while this morning playing with the tutorial, cutting out the template, I may have a go at it later today.

  36. Jacquie, that's a great and noble cause--I worked as a counselor one summer for a camp for girls with diabetes, and it was a huge learning experience. Those are some tough kids, growing up with one more challenge.

And you know you can always count on me to join a challenge--I'd certainly be up for a "group inspiration" style Spring to Finish. Maybe a Flickr group for it?

  37. That's a fantastic donation, Jacquie. You inspire me with all the good you do with your work. I'm sorry to hear about your nephew - diabetes is indeed a challenge especially for kids.
