If that wasn't enough, the three of us met again later in the week at another fabric store in Lawrence. Some serious shopping happened for all of us. Between the two stores I picked up some pretty fabulous finds. Under and behind a few other bolts, I found these...ladybugs to die for. Sorry, I bought every inch they had.
Sarah's Fabrics in Lawrence actually has a few prints of the Neptune line...it may be the only store in the country that has those. I got my fav print that may work with some Salvador Dali-like fabric I found.
Kathy, Tula's mom, found me some fat quarters of Full Moon Forest. EEEEK! The stars truly aligned for me.
To top it all off we had lunch together and chatted design, fabric, and kids over gourmet burgers and truffle fries. Yep, I said truffle fries.
On top of all that, my niece's graduation gift is finished. I love this set. I think she will too. My finish number is growing...still working like a dog here. Lots left to do!!

Wow, i LOVE your niece's gift! I am sure she will too! That ladybug fabric is too darn cute! I would love to go on a quilt shop field trip one day.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift set! My thinking cap is whirring now.
ReplyDeleteTreasures: fabric, good conversation, good food.
ReplyDeleteThe ladybugs are too cute.
Your niece will be SOOO happy!
I did not realize the ladybugs or neptune were so hard to find, my LQS has both!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome day!
ReplyDeleteHow many people got the 7th house reference? Sounds like an awesome trip! I want more details on those truffle fries.
ReplyDeletei'm beyond jealous right now.
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun time! Love your fabric finds.
ReplyDeleteLove the set for your niece. It turned out very well. Nice fabrics as well, though I thought the lady bug was were like little aliens heads or something at first glance. Then I looked at it again and read your description and finally saw how it's a ladybug :P.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen the ladybugs in any other color than the brown background with the green ladybugs. I will have to look and see if they have any of the other colors at Miller's Dry Goods in Charm Ohio this weekend when I work the anniversary sale. The other colors would be great to have in my stash for baby quilts. The graduation present - it is all to pretty to even think about using! Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteIs the 7th house the one with lots of shelves for fabric? I am an astrology weenie and know nothing....except that I was born on the cusp. ouch.
ReplyDeleteGreat fab finds and the grad gift is deluxe!!!
There are benefits to driving down to KC from Omaha- stopping in stewartsville is one of them! :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the graduation gift. I've got a date with my sewing machine to make potholders and I think you've given me the inspiration I need. :) Thanks! :) See you next week...
