Work My Fingers to The Bone
Tomorrow is a big day for me. I'm speaking at my guild...I'd sure like to have these quilts bound and ready to show and talk about and I'd love to show them to you too. For now, just a peek. I'm pretty proud of all of them.
I have less than 36 hours to bind four BIG quilts. I will be working my fingers to the bone to get them done.
While you're waiting for me to finish, you might want to check out Heather's blog later today. She's starting a quilt-as-you-go quilt-a-long. I've never done the quilt-as-you-go thing, but it might be just the ticket for you.
Wish me luck. I'm going to need it.

I love hand sewing the binding down on the back! Perfectly wonderful activity to do while on the couch watching some TV. I wish I could do one or two for you ....
Good luck! I love the colors on these quilts.
Good luck, it sounds very exciting and I wish I could listen to your show and tell at the guild!
I can't wait; you're going to be great!
Watch a couple of your favourite movies while you do the binding, and perhaps it'll go quicker? Good luck!!!
I would love to help you. Sending luck your way....
I would certainly help bind if I could. Grab some M & Ms and put in a movie (or 2 or 3). Happy Binding.
Can't wait for the guild meeting tomorrow night! Need some inspiration. . .
If I were closer, I'd lend you my fingers. Really, I would.
go go go! (-: you'll be a big hit i'm sure!!
luck, luck, luck!!! You made me smile. Nothing like a trunk show to kick ya in the pants to get some quilts, done, eh? One of our guild members did the same thing a couple of years ago. She finished 3 quilts that had been lying around since the early 90's!
Wish I was next-door so I could help! I love this part of the process, so close to finishing and just the rhythm of the needle going in and out.
Have fun, and you're going to be great!
We're gonna love it no matter what the binding looks like, Jacquie! But isn't if funny how something like this really gets us to get things finished!! Deadlines....hate em, but love em!! See you soon....
Yay!! I wish you luck in both finishing the bindings and your lecture. I am also doing a lecture at a guild. My first one, in October! You will have to give me some pointers and let me know how it goes.
OOOOHHH...I am really sad that I don't get to hear you speak and see those gorgeous quilts in person.
Have fun at guild!
I can't wait to see each one of those quilts so hurry up and bind them all, and speak to that guild, and then get those beauties posted for the rest of us to see!! I'm not getting any younger, you know? LOL
YOu Go Girl! You can do it!
I'm hoping by now you're sitting back looking at all those completed quilts and patting yourself on the back! Can't wait to see them in their full beauty!!
You will do a great talk at your Guild I'm sure - actually you probably won't need to say much, because if you get all these quilts finished THEY will do the talking for you of that I'm sure.
Great job of achieving so much in getting them this far on and think of the major sense of achievement you have in having them finished, it leaves a big gap to be filled in with making MORE QUILTS - and we will all be here to share the journey with you.
Good luck! Normally I love doing binding, but I am so slow at it!
go Jacquie! go Jacquie!
(nothing like binding under pressure! i've done that a few times myself.)s
Do you use ladder stitching on your binding? My binding goes SO quickly since I made the switch. I like that the stitches are invisible, too...I can use whatever thread I have on hand and nobody will be the wiser.
I bet you are just about to start your presentation! Break a leg.
You did a fabulous job, Jacquie! Thank you so much for sharing!
What a great presentation! You have me inspired to open my eyes and just give improvisation a shot. Thank you for your humor and love of the art. Our guild is so lucky to have you!
I loved your presentation and getting to touch your quilts last night! I must say... I'm totally impressed you can wire a house and move a gas line! I think learning those things may be in my near future. :)
Snicker.
I recognize at least 4 of those!
Hope you got them bound in time!!
