Spiffing Up!

I want, well, I need my studio to be an inspiring place. I spend most of my day there, so I want it to be happy, bright, and inspirational. I added a few things this week to spiff up the place just a bit.
First I purchased this hand painted cabinet from Betsy at BonBon Atelier in Kansas City. Betsy's mom hand painted it. I happened to ask Betsy a few visits ago about it and she told me it was for sale. It didn't take me long to go back and take it home with me.
It's the perfect place for my collection of solids to hang out.
I had this old ladder in another part of the house. It's actually a piece from a very large ladder. The big part is the handrail on the basement stairs. This is the leftover that I had to cut off. I plopped it in the corner with a few mini quilts and my tomtar guards. I love having it in the studio.
I'm working on my selvage spools again....I have some wall space reserved for that quilt. I can't wait to finish and get it hung. Things are shaping up around here!

  2. Just LOVELY! OK, now I feel good about my slow, but steady acquisition of Kona solids. Hey, they're nice even as decoration! course, I use them tons too. I think my office/art room is the same shade of green as yours. Such a yummy, moody color!

  17. Jacquie, thank you so much for your heart and your site; the freedom, the inspiration, the ignition of flowing expression that it provides those of us who get locked up in the daily grind. You help me release my inner child to play freely, to not be confined. Thank you for all you do! For your willingness to share life, to help us grow and develop - wish I'd read your 4-part quilt tutorial before I started my tablerunner which isnt matching up - ohhh, SCANT 1/4-inch; I've ordered the War of Art to inspire me to break through the creativity-quenching resistance in every area of my life, and The World Vision project was absolutely inspiring and challenging. And lastly, thank you for encouraging other gifted bloggers and artists like my BFF Penny at sewtakeahike. Thankful to have been connected with you site through that great lady.
So Jacquie, enjoy the rest of this month. May your Christmas celebrations with your family be memorable and sweet! InJoy! Glynis
