Solids are a great choice for modern quilts...they help amazing prints shine, and on their own they have that clean, modern look that I love. My quilt, "Think Big" is on the cover. It's a fun, simple, bold quilt.
It's hard for me to choose a favorite Kona color because now there are 243 colors to choose from...28 brand new colors. Mushroom is one of those new colors. This just might be a new basic for me!
It's important to have great basics like ash, snow, charcoal and all the wonderful browns, but there's one color that I haven't found in any other line of solids...it's the perfect pink, light and subtle...wonderful for both a quilt for a baby and for a sophisticated adult. My favorite Kona color is pale flesh!

1 – 200 of 368 Newer› Newest»I have just begun to embrace the solid color fabrics. I think that is because there are now so many yummy choices.
I love using solid colours to frame feature fabrics in quilts, as well as just using them as part of the whole selection for making a quilt. Love the look of this book, such a great idea.
So far I've just used solids as an accent to print fabrics. But the interesting pictures from this new book might inspire me to try an all solids quilt. Thanks for the chance to win.
I use solids in all me work, both textile art and quilts. Would love to try the Kona!
I love solids.I use them mainly for Amish style quilts.
I used solids when I want a clean line and a depth of color that can be hard to get with prints.
I haven't used a lot of aolids yet but I do think it gives a place that allows ones eyes to rest. This book looks really great; a lot of talent packed into one book. I should be getting a copy of Quilting Modern this week that I ordered from the "hurt " book sale - I can"t wait to see it. Thanks.
I would love to win this giveaway...perhaps to give me some ideas for a new solids quilt.
So far I just use solids as a neutral to rest the eye. But my sis has requested an all solid quilt and I'm excited to tackle it.
I would love to make an entire quilt with just solids!
I love high contrast and unusual color combinations- it's fun to work with solids in that way.
I love using solids mixed with my favorite prints. I always have, as a quilt can get 'too busy' for me, without some solid to break it up :)
I use solids as borders, savings and backings. Something tells me I should get my hands on this book to get out of my rut! Thanks for the chance.
For me, solids are a place for the eye to rest in my quilts, though more recently, I've tried to get more comfortable with all solids designs. Great giveaway!
Sounds like this book was made for me! I love using solids in bold saturated colors, like bright yellows and hot pinks. They are so cheerful and people really seem to respond to these happy colors!
The new Kona Colors are calling to me. I think it maybe the best part of my summer. The book shows how 16 different approaches to solids can be fun.
I actually don't use tons of solids as none of our quilt shops have many, if any, of the Kona solids. Wouldn't this be a great introduction to using them and then a book to give me fun ideas. Thanks.
I've been using Kona solids for a solids group I joined on Flickr and LOVE them! I've made 6 blocks so far and would love to win so I can make lots more!!! Thanks for teh chance - it looks like a fab book :)
I use solids when I want to highlight certain design features of a quilt
Since making my swoon quilt with a mix of prints and solids I just can't get enough of solids. Fingers crossed here :O)
i've made solids only quilts before, and i use solids quite a bit to enhance prints. it just depends on what i'm feeling for a particular quilt. :)
That is the perfect pink! I am really starting to love adding solids to my quilts. It makes them look fresh, rather than plain.
i just started using solids and i love kona solids, every color you would ever need is there. thanks for the great giveaway
I love picking solids in complimenting or contrasting colours to the print fabrics I'm using in a quilt to add more dimension and interest to the quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!
I think solids help the patters pop. I love solids, they are always they for you!,
Mostly I use solids as backgrounds. I'm getting ready to join in the Granny Square fad and I'll be using a constant solid for it.
I use solids mostly together with prints, but have made 'only-solid's quilt, too. I have entered my only big one to the 100 days of modern quilting and was so delighted, that is has been accepted.
I use Kona snow all the time. It is not pure stark white, but not as dark as a cream. I have never used your favorite color pale flesh. I have a tendency to migrate toward more saturated colors.
I love using bright solids to compliment my favorite prints - sometimes as a background and sometimes just put in the mix.
i love the way a solid can make prints really pop out! i tend to stick with basic kona solids: snow, ash, and coal, but would like to branch out! i'm loving kona curry right now. and that mushroom is fantastic!!!
I love mushroom! It fills the gap between brown and gray. I like placing solids where it will make a bold unexpected statement on my quilt
Thx for the chance! I use solids to break up or tie in busy geometric prints, and have also started using them on their own to see how far I can stretcch my creative juices :)
A collection like that would be just like a painter having all the colors of paint on her palette!
I am a little crazy bold print happy, but to tone them down or highlight them I love to use coordinating solids. one of may favorite quick quilt combinations for baby quilts is splurging on a fun charm pack and then making them the center of a square in square for a great quick and cute quilt.
I love color and solids. I've made two queen quilts and a lap out of solids in the last year and those are the only 3 quilts I've made, so I basically only use solids. I'd love to see the book and have it around for inspiration and that fat quarter bundle would be wonderful. Thanks for the giveaway. Congrats on being included in the publication.
I love using a mix of solids and prints in quilts. Solids are sophisticated. I love them in both traditional and modern quilts. Actually, they automatically modernize traditional quilts.
I just got this book and it inspired me to go back to my pile of solids and I think I am finally going to make the "Plain Spoken" quilt from Modern Quilt workshop. I have about 20 different solids for it, so I think it will have some good depth.
I've only just started to use solids in my quilts as I've tended to use semi-solids/tone on tones (they're easier to hand piece through as they're lighter) but I've been seduced by the range of colours/shades that solids offer - I might even have to invest in a colour chart! Thanks for the giveaway - it looks like a brilliant book!
I could think of a lot of things to do with this wonderful solids. But here in Denmark there is only a few for sale.
So I hope to be the happy winner.

I have only used solids as a "neutral" in my quilting so far, but I am so ready to take the elap and let them be the star. I have alsways loved "solids" in modern art, so I don't know why it took so long to make the shift in quilting. Now, I just need more solid fabric... thanks for the chance to win some!
I'm really loving solids in my quilting and am lucky enough to have a great selection of Kona solids at my favorite fabric store. I just love the assortment!

I love using solids for a whole quilt or to add to group of colours. I also use solids for backgrounds. I love the book and would love to see the new colours in person. Thank you for the give away.
So far I've just used solids as accents, but these new colors are beautiful, and the book could inspire me to create a whole quilt in solids.
I probably don't use them enough, mainly just as background/sashing. I usually follow a pattern when I quilt. but just last night my 7yo and I sketched up a quilt all in kona solids. I'm very excited
I use solids as background fabrics and for negative space. I also add a pop of solid bright colors here and there to spice up blocks and colorways. I like solid bindings sometimes too ;)
I love to work with solids and can't wait to see the new book!
I usually make quilts of all solids or all prints (well, I guess I use solids as backgrounds) but I'd like to do more with mixing prints and solids. Thanks! Very excited to see the book!
I love using solids in my quilts - I generally use lots of neutrals, greys, white & snow but am starting to embrace other more bold colours. I have made a solids only quilt & it is one of my all time favourites. This book looks amazing, thanks for the giveaway.
Two years ago I was all like "solids. ick." Then I found the modern quilt movement, and the first meeting of the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild I attended was liberated quilting using solids. I left my decades-old lover, Mr. Batiks, at the door and ran straight into the arms of Mr. Kona Solids. Making this paradigm shift isn't easy, and it hasn't been all or nothing. But I do love my new love!
Being a new quilter I am only using solids for sashing right now, but very soon I will start my first solids only quilt. I can NOT wait to get started!!
I usually use solids to compliment my prints or to use for the background. I want to make a quilt using just solids though!
I use solids to make things go pop in my all my quilts.
I have always wanted to make (and will one day) a tumbler or triangle quilt with solids and some print scraps mixed in. I saw this before ad want to make one for just me. :) Thanks for the generous giveaway.
Solids are the best when it comes to working you hand quilting stitch - I'll take any shade of salmon or periwinkle blue to make my day! Take care - Byrd.
I like to make all-solids patterns--I got started 30 years ago inspired by Amish quilts. I still love them, and still have that first Amish-inspired quilt!
I like solids as borders and also to highlight a design. Thanks for the chance to win!
I usually use solids as an accent, but I'd love to use them more as the star of the show.
I use solids in everything I make breaking up patterns and adding interest in a simple way. I haven't yet made an all solid quilt but I'm sure if I win this then it will kick my butt into gear towards doing it.
I am a big fan of solids and I also love that Pale Flesh color. Would love a copy of the book!
I just finished my first all solids quilt using only Kona solids last week. And I LOVE it!! I never would have guessed using all solids would be so fun!
I used to use solids as the accent, but now they're the main focus in my quilts!
I have pretty much always used solids as background but have been yearning to make a whole quilt of solids ... love this bundle & I'm so excited to see We Love Color! Thank you for the chance :)
These colors are awesome! Would love to use them with some of my prints or try something with all of them together. Thanks for this opportunity to win!
I use solids in every quilt I make, either to support prints, as background, or sometimes for an entire quilt.
I'm looking forward to using ALL solids in a quilt someday, something very different from my past quilts.
KONA solids are my fav, and my color card is like a good friend. Quilts are what I make the most of, and I use plenty of solids. The grays are my basics more than white or snow. I'm anxious to get acquainted with the new colors!
I would make something modern and masculine for my DH, who complains about all the florals in my stash.
I'm a fairly recent fan of solids. Cherri House introduced me to their wonders in her City Quilts book. I've made two all solids mini quilts which i adore! Solids now play a big part in my stash building and I'm constantly on the look out for solids inspiration. Fingers crossed - would so love to have the book & the bundle :)
I love solid white sashing. And that's currently all I have in my stash. I'm hoping to win so I can make a rainbow quilt of sorts! Thanks!!!
I usually use solids for borders and bindings but I am inspired by all the solid quilts I've seen recently. Thanks for the giveaway!
I made my first all solid quilt a year ago by making a Single Girl (from Denyse Schmidt). I love the way it came out. Since then, I've been mixing solids in with my prints. Though with so many to choose from I find it difficult to find just the right solid. (I don't want it to match exactly as I find it looks a bit flat).
THANKS for hosting such an awesome giveaway!
Dianne
dbienick@comcat.net
I like to mix them with prints. They seem to sparkle when used with other fabrics.
I've been hesitant to use solids for more than sashing but after seeing the amazing things being done with them I want to start using more.
I have only used solids as a background for prints, mostly white, blue or black. I have wanted to do a solid quilt but have not as of yet.
I am not very brave with solids yet...but love the look when someone else uses them! This book would be great to help me get my solids stated!! thanks
I love pale flesh, too. I used it to coordinate with the brown/orange/blue Mendocino prints, and it goes so well. It doesn't even look pink!
I can't wait to see the new colors up close!
I started using them as accents or somewhere for the eye to rest, and now I've made a quilt with only solids and the teeniest bit of print to break it up. So a complete reversal! Thanks for the great giveaway - fingers crossed.
I love solids and use them frequently in many different ways. I love putting different solids together to see how the colors interact in blocks and I also combine solids with prints to define a design or just enhance a beautiful fabric.
I've always loved solids - I was first drawn to Amish quilts because of them. Now I like to use them in almost all my quilts - sometimes as an accent, sometimes as sashings or border or background, and sometimes they are all that appear in a quilt. It depends on my mood and the look and feel I'm trying to get. Fabulous book, thanks for the opportunity to win one!
I've been inspired by you for ideas using solids & love the look. I would like to learn more from your book.
So far, I've just used solids as backgrounds, sashing, binding, etc. But I'm really dying to try an all-solids quilt.
wow, what a great prize! I love solids for a lot of projects. I prefer a simpler look many times and solids can help calm the crazy. Plus with a Kona card, I can easily find great colors to coordinate with prints I have.
I've been using solids and prints that read as solids in the last year and find that solids add a fresh look to traditional quilt blocks.
I have only used solids sparingly in the past. I have enjoyed your posts using more of them and would like to get more into my quilting.
http://richardquilts.blogspot.com
I generally only use solids for backgrounds and borders! I've recently been considering an all or mostly solids quilt for my husband or father!
Having enough Kona 'snow' in the stash makes me calm. But what IS enough! I like teal and robins egg blue and I LOVE the cotton pink. My local shop carries very few Kona solids, so I usually have to order online. That new mushroom is a beauty! I'm very excited that the range of solids is so beautiful and vast and am always looking for ways to utilize it. Current fav: BANNERS! Thank you for this opportunity.
I use solids to give breathing space to the prints in my quilts. even 10% of the top as solids can calm a crazy patchwork enough to make it pleasing. Since I love wild colors and diverse patterns, including a bit of solids is so important!
I have mostly used solids as background fabrics, but this book and some things I've seen on blogs have inspired me to try an all solids quilt. That bundle looks fantastic and I appreciate the chance to win the book and fabrics!
I love to use solids on the backing and to offset prints on my quilt, Love them all, especially the bright colors!
I tend to use solids as backgrounds, but the quilting bee I am now part of has pushed me to use it and I love it!
i use them for negative space but more and more lately i love them as the positive space in a quilt and a print as the negative space- lots of people i have seen do this with wonky stars. making up a whole piece is also a great way to go!
I like the use of solids in contrasting fields of color - aiming, like some Amish quilts, for combinations that shouldn't really "go together" but yet still look stunning.
I use solid as back ground..but want to try a modern look with only solids....
I've looked at this book and would love a copy! Thanks.
I use solids as a background, but I want to work towards using all or mostly solids.
I like to use solids with just a little bit of print thrown in to mix it up.
So many fabulous colours - great names too!
I'd love to win!!!
Chris x
I like to use solids to break up the fabrics with patterns. I am really trying to undo the years of being taught that you do not mix different prints since years ago that was the 'rule'. I love the modern look to quilting for the most part so I am really trying to break that stuff learned as a child. I've seen some amazing quilts using all solids and would love to make one myself.
I have never used solids because I am not good with solids...so I don't have any solids (with the exception of Kona Snow). That's why I really need to win the book and fabric so I can start utilizing all those beautiful Kona colors.
i use solid colors to tell a story - a graduation of oranges is a sunset, a collection of solids represent a season, and certainly colors convey an emotion.
I've been using solids a lot, I love the simplicity they add, and how they allow the pattern to be the star of a quilt.
What gorgeous colors!
Currently, I don't have any solids. But if I did, I'd use them to make an all solids Amish style quilt. I just love those.
i'm itching to make an all solids quilt! thanks
After taking a two day workshop with Gwen Marston last month I am craving to work with more solids. The nice bright colors are a welcome chnge from the darker civil war colors.
I love solids! I have recently started using them alone, without prints, both in improv blocks and more traditional ones. I love them! And since I am generally not a commenter, I must take this opportunity to say a BIG thank you for your blog & your book, Jacquie -- you are **very** inspiring! :)
What a generous giveaway - thank you for the chance to win. I'm interested in painting with fabric and this solid bundle would be perfect!
I usually use solids as an accent for prints, but I have plans for a striped quilt using bold colors.
I'm working on a king quilt right now with four solids in it, and I'm loving it!
ourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I am in the process of making my first quilt with a dark solid.(Kona Charcoal) Always feel a bit apprehensive on how to quilt these. Thanks for the inspirations! crlwilkie@aol.com
I've been using solids to balance off prints...but would love to try making quilts with all solids.
These new colors are so gorgeous!
I've just bought your new book so I'm keen to use solids in my modern quilting!
Solids are such a necessity when you love novelty fabs like I do! They are a good stopping point to keep the quilts from looking insane...
I love to pair solids with hand dyed cottons. This book is on my wish list for sure!
Solids are my go to if I am stuck with what to add to the bundle. I love solid sashing and borders.
I love the use of solids to add paunch of color and to really accentuate the quilting. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Just starting to use solids after seeing all the inspirational quilts on blogs. Would love to win this book to really get me started. Thank you.
I absolutely love the new kona colors. I can't wait to use them in my quilts. My favorite is sprout. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Have a good day.
Linda
What a great giveaway. I too love colors esp solids.
I love solids ... in fact I am working on a design for a quilt for our bed that will use only solids!
Right now I think I use solids more as an anchor for my prints than anything else. I'd like to play around with them more, though!
Using solids gives the eye a place to rest, thanks for the chance to win.
What's so great about solids is that they can be used anywhere and anytime. I need some borders on a couple of quilts so might use them for that. Otherwise, I've never just used solids totally and would like to give that a try.
Using a new ruler to make a quilt with solids & a vintage sheet. Can't wait to get started.
I have yet to make an all-solids quilt, though I see it in my future. Mostly use solids as background and border fabric for my quilts. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love to use solids in my bindings. Usually 1 colour different from the rest to add some interest. I also use solids exclusively in quilts with no prints or sometimes mixed with prints too. I have seen some great colours used as the negative space in a quilt and I'm a quick convert to that. Everyday I'm learning of new places to use solids......it appears limitless.
Oh, it would be amazing to win the new colours and the book. thanks for the opportunity
Ooof! I'm so late in arriving!
I'd love to have the book for my quilting library!
This book looks so great! Congrats on the cover quilt! I love using solids for the striking visual impact they make. I usually use them as both background and mixed with prints-seems to make everything else pop!
Usually I use solids to highlight the prints. So far I made only one thing only with solids. I just have to add at least one printed fabric to solids. But I couldn't live without them:)
I use mostly white and gray but I am planning a solids only quilt soon. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the book.
I love quilting with solids, and I love your cover quilt!
solid color pillows are a great way to add a touch of color without being overwhelming
"Be Bold!"
I'm practically drooling over this giveaway. It's so great! I've always stuck to the basic whites for a the background but recently branched out to use a bright red. I'm loving it! I'd love to get my hands on more solids to play with. Thanks for the chance!
I am still working on building my solid stash but I think all quilts need some solids- a place to rest. Can't wait to see this book in person.
I used to use solids for backgrounds, but now I'm starting to use them everywhere.
Wonderful giveaway - the book looks great, and the solids would be very welcome to my wee stash! I like to pair solids with prints to coordinate in projects. :) Thanks!!
I love adding a solid or two to my scrap quilts. They tend to give order to the chaos of lots of prints. I love the new mushroom color too.
First Congratulations! Solids, 243, I want them all, really I do. I like to use solids as fillers for a quilt with odd sized blocks. I ONLY use Kona White as my background choice. Adds a clean crisp look. Thank you for this chance.
I love to use solid colors in baby quilts. The pieces are usually small and lots of color makes them look jewel like. They work well with lots of traditional patterns too.
Thanks for a chance to win such fantastic gifts!
Backntexas@gmail.com
I need to work on my solids stash! What a great way to start :)
I love solids to make Amish inspired quilts.
I love all of the new colors
c_kaminsky(at)yahoo(dot)com
I'm a big fan of the mushroom color too-- It goes with so many other fabrics and patterns.
I've recently started using more solids... other than whites. I'm making a quilt now in 5 shades of gray/blues :-)
Thanks for the giveaway.
I love, love color but there is certainly a place for the basic nutrals!
I mostly use solids to complement my prints in a quilt. I would love to win this book! Thanks for chance! (EMAIL: marshudson at comcast dot net)
I use solids to make the prints pop. This looks like an awesome book to learn more ways to use solids!
Ruth
Meu trabalho atual tem 19 tons de azul, mas, nada me impedirá de fazer um coloridão,28 novas cores é fácil de arranjar um padrão.Obrigad.tiacarminhapezzuto@gmail.com
I want to do an all solid Kona quilt. I am fairly new to using solids but I love them.
i use them for backgrounds and accenting, mostly.
I use Kona Solids mainly as an accent to prints or for 2 color quilts. Thanks for the chance to win!
I use solids to bring out key colors in my prints. Or to add a little something to bags I make.
I haven't used a lot of solids in quilts yet, actually. I was going to do all solids in my next quilt, but then I fell in love with another line of fabric. I would use more solids if I had one of those color cards so I could order the right solid colors online. My LQS doesn't carry many of them at all.
steeplechaser29 at yahoo dot com
I've gone from not even owning any solids to using them as accents with my large scale prints. Now I have a decent stash of solid colors and just finished my first all solid quilt with another one in the works. Wish there was a very light gray. Any one know of something lighter than ash that is a true gray?
i'm just starting to get comfortable using any solids whatsoever so right now i just use them as a bright spot!
I use them as a pop of color in my quilts. Nothing like a solid against a print to make that color shine.
I love using solid fabrics to make the design the star. I can wait to see what each of the designers did for the book. Congratulations for your participation!
I've started looking at solids in a whole new way. The Kona solids are gorgeous. I've used solids mainly for a place for the eye to rest in my quilting. I'd love to make a quilt with all solids. Such inspiration!
Thank you, Stash Books and Robert Kaufman for a generous giveaway and a chance to win.
usairdoll(at)gmail(dot)com
I am renewing my love for solids ever since I saw the book City Quilts, now I try to pick up FQ & half yard pieces here and there trying to build up my stash of solids. Hopefully can start on the "solids only" quilt I want soon. Thanks for a chance to enhance my stash.
Mostly I've used solids to frame prints or as accents to prints, but I recently did a paper-pieced quilt using nothing but solids and loved it - so I'm hoping to make more quilts in all solids!
I love adding a solid or two to my scrap quilts. They tend to give order to the chaos of lots of prints. I love the new mushroom color too.
I love using only solids in a quilt! Working the whole rainbow spectrum into the quilt is a favorite of mine.
I just finished my version of Jacqui's Blue Ice Quilt. I used apricot, yellow, bright greens, lt cream print scraps for the centers. I used Kona Celery, Artichoke, Stone for all the borders and a pieced back. I'm going to make the quilt again using Kona solids in the borders AND center crazy pieces.
Jacquie, I got to look at this book today and it is AMAZING!!! Thanks for the chance to win it and the solids! I love love love using solids in my quilts and can never have enough, they are the best basic and get used in every project! Congratulations on being the cover girl for this book, your quilt certainly deserves it :)
I tend to gravitate toward bold and graphic prints, so I always make sure to have lots of solids in my stash to balance them out. Otherwise every project looks like a funhouse!
I like using solids in my quilts to give the eye a chance to rest from all the bold prints I choose. Thanks for the chance!
I love solids and I'd love to win. But if I can't, then I want Donna to win so everyone can read her funny, funny comment! HA HA! Wait, if I win, everyone will read MY comment, and then they will be curious and go look up Donna's. So, I definitely should win. Thanks, Jacquie!
Solids for me are easier to coordinate with other fabrics. Judith, Texas
I'm just learning how to use solids. So far, I've only used them for backgrounds and a few solids here and there to supplements prints that I have. I'd love to make an all-solids project some day!
I love solids. I think it is important for most designs for there to be a place for the eye to rest, and solids are great for providing that and keeping the design clean. :)
I have used solids with my Hawaiian fabric. Helps to calm those busy prints.
I have only used solids as negative space so far, but I have been really impressed with what other quilters have done using all solids, so I'm psyched to try it out! I agree that Mushroom is a pretty awesome putty color.
I'd love to make a HST rainbow quilt!
i LOVE solids and have done a few solids-only quilts. I am sure I would use these to make another one. The new Kona colors are fabulous!
That book looks amazing! I always think it's funny what all the new colors get named...it's like lipstick and nail gloss names, but a little less silly.
I use solids in every quilt that I make. In some quilts, the solids really are the star of the show and in others it's more about having some breathing room in between the prints. Thanks for the chance!
I always use solids in my quilts. I love it!
I hope to give the Modern quilting technique a try! I have never really worked with solids...challenge!
That is a sophisticated pink; who knew there was such a thing?
I use solids to calm or accent prints. I am collecting inspiration to try some solids-only projects, because they're so arresting!
Thanks for the chance to win.
I am just starting to work more with solids. I find that i use them more and more in quilts.
I haven't done an all-solids quilt yet because I haven't really stashed enough, and I have to purchase my fabrics slooooowly (and on sale!). But I love to use Konas for accents and as a fundamental part of a backing, and I can't wait to try an all-solids quilt in the future! I really like the new iron, steel, poppy, and peapod. Can't wait to order some! I just got some Caribbean and it is just gorgeous.
There are so many great solids available now that it is impossiboe to resist using them. So far I must admit that I've mainly used them for sashing, but I'm working on a new quilt now, inspired by computer disks, and that one is all solids.
While I used to use solids as background, now I find myself making totally solid quilts and loving it.
I have only ever madeall solids quilts! I have a fear of prints! I buy them but they just sit on the shelves. My next quilt is all neutrals to go on a couch that has a busy print. Love solids.
I'm just starting working with solids. I would like to use them for some kind of fabric collages on pillows.
I am a new quilter and have only used solids for sashing and binding so far. I would love to make a "solids-only" quilt. Thank you for the chance to win!
So far my limited use of solids has been for linings of bags and for straps, some binding in quilts and backing as well! I can't wait to get my hands on this book!!! I LOVE IT! Thanks for the chance to win this amazing giveaway!!!
I love use Kona Solids for borders. I just started one today!
Mary. (svalgoma@yahoo.com)
I've used solids mostly for sashings and borders . . . Would love to try an all-solid quilt!
I use solids in my borders and sashing. Since I have been following the Modern Quilting Movement I have used in more in smaller quilts. I still love the steel bridge. Reading you book right now for ideas and would love to Read this new one. I love Kona fabric and have almost collected enough for a multi colored quilt. So, this FQ set would be a wonderful addition. Thank you!
I love using solids to make a print pop or on their own to look modern and provide full, saturated color. Thanks for the opportunity to win an awesome prize!
I started my first sampler with a paisley border and all the blocks in various blue solids. Somehow I got sidetracked and I'm back to wanting predominantly solids or tone on tones.
It's kinda funny because all the colors scare me a little! I'm totally comfortable with white and have made enough quilts with that color (or lack of color!) to have used up ten yards in the past year. A bundle of the new colors might just push me off my safe spot. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love working with solids and all of the new Kona colors are awesome! Thanks for the giveaway!
I use commercial solids with my hand-dyed fabric in art quilts.
The juxtaposition of the two is very pleasing, especially if
similar colors are next to each other. Solids also
enable me to get the exact color I want.
I use solids to set off my favorite prints--love contrast!
I like to use solids with prints to emphasize the print. My favorite use of solids was the P2 Modern QAL - solids just pop in asymetrical geometrical blocks. I'm looking at using solids to form a secondary design in a baby quilt - Butterflies and Snowballs. Thanks for the chance.
