Everything in the house is packed, from fabric down to the last spoon in the kitchen. We don't know quite where we're going, we just know we're going.
In the midst of all this the second printing of Quilting Modern finally arrived on the slow boat from China! I'm so happy to have copies again, though the last thing I needed was another big, heavy box in the house. The book should be shipping to stores and Amazon is no longer charging 70+ dollars for a copy. If you don't have a copy, now is the time!
I actually have been making quilts over the last couple of months. This one is Firestacks, inspired by my childhood campfire building experiences. Firestacks will be in Quilt Trends magazine this winter. I've also got work in Interweave's Quilt Scene magazine, Mary Fon's new magazine, Quilty, and in the debut issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited. I'm thrilled about Modern Quilts Unlimited, a magazine dedicated to modern quilts and quilters. Pretty cool that modern quilting is the star of this publication! The debut issue is being printed and you won't want to miss it!
I'm hoping that we'll be in our new condo in the next couple of weeks and that I can plan, organize and begin working in the new studio. I believe it's going to happen!
Have fun in NC, and good luck with the move. I hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteA leap of faith, for sure. Good luck with the travel and with the move -- it'll all come out in the end, even if the trip feels rocky!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't wait to see that quilt top -- I love the brown sashing! So dashing. ;)
what fun you will have in NC. moving-yech, still unpacking here.
ReplyDeleteNC!! I'm in NC, maybe I can sneak away and get over there, it's about 40 minutes away. I just may do it.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to know the name of that fabric with the blue & orange polka dots on the black lines. SWOON!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful publications to look forward to! I hope you get moved and settled soon. The waiting must be a killer.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Jacquie! I so hope things settle out movewise just like you want it to. What a busy time for you. I for one, am so excited to see you next week. I hope the trip can be an enjoyable one even with everything you have going on with the move!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you're settled in the condo before the hustle and bustle of the Holidays begins. I know we can always make lemonade with enough lemons but maybe you'd rather be drinking Champagne!
ReplyDelete(I'm beginning to feel very unsettled. It should subside as soon as you're settled )
Have a good trip and move...your creative juices will be overflowing by the time that new studio is ready to go!!! Looking forward to the magazines.
ReplyDeleteI'm in SC, any chance you're coming further south?
