Block Party Blog Tour

It's time for the Block Party blog tour! I'm thrilled to be a part of the tour for this special book. I remember when Alissa and Kristen asked me to be a part of the Block Party virtual quilting bee. I'm so proud of how these two woman and Stash Books have translated that original bee into this extraordinary book. The book, in its unique way, captures the power of quilters working together, the internet, and the creative process. The book supports both beginners who would like to learn to quilt and more experienced quilters who want interesting quilt ideas. This is my quilt in the book, Profit Margins!
I think you'll love the quilts in the book. I know there are several that I want to make for myself! You can see a quick glimpse of all the quilts in this great video!

Block Party: The Modern Quilting Bee book promo from Alissa Haight Carlton on Vimeo.

If you'd like to have a copy of the book for yourself, check out Amazon or your local quilt shop. If you're feeling lucky, I'm giving away another copy to one of my readers. Simply leave a comment on this post and tell me your favorite quilt in the book or why you'd like a copy for yourself. (Watch the video to see all the quilts!) Comments will close midnight on Sunday. (central time). I'll announce the winner on Monday. Good luck everyone!
Be sure to continue on the tour with all these crafty folks:

  2. I don't know if I can choose a favorite, but I would love to have the book because I saw it in person recently (either at JoAnn's or Barnes and Noble, can't remember which, but hey either one is a big deal!) and it is GORGEOUS! Each quilt is a true work of art and the book brings them all together beautifully!

  3. I love all quilts, but the most the last one presented on photo with all quilts (little squares on white background).
I like the idea for this book - it makes it unusual!

  4. I haven't had a chance to actually look through the book in real life so I'm probably missing out on some, but I love the one with spots all over it, and the colours in yours - I'm such a sucker for red and aqua! I also love the music on the video - perfection. :)

  6. I love the circle dresden plate quilt. I couldn't work out if that was called profit margins, or if that was the cover. Anyhow it is my favourite. The hexagon one is pretty awesome too, I'm into hexagons at the moment. Congratulations on a terrific looking book.

  16. Hard to choose just one -- I'd have to say the white one with the scattered colored bits personifies "modern" for me but I also liked the stacked books and the twisted dresdens as a fresh take on traditional.

I'm really looking forward to getting this book as a summer quilt book read!

  173. Okay, I have three- (well, twelve really) but three- the confetti, the stacked books and the gray one with little triangles. I had to watch the video with a sleeping babe on my lap (= no sound) so I don't know if that last one has a real name. :)

  174. I would have to say yours is my favorite ... I am really into that sort of red, white and aqua color palette right now. I also love what is on the cover of the book too. Thanks for the chance to win!

  197. I would love to win this book. I learn so much about modern quilting from seeing modern quilts and reading about the process. I'm a pretty rigid person in life--I have a lot to learn. :)
