We saw the show from the front of the house. I was standing beside Bryan, the lighting guy. Since I was up on his platform above the crowd, I could actually see something (rather than the back of someone's head) and at the same time didn't have to be in the frenzy of the crowd. Both my hubby and I remembered our earplugs and let me tell you I could hear just fine.
Bryan is a lighting wizard. The show was a lighting extravaganza that paired perfectly with the music. It was sort of magical.
This is Andy on bass, Mike (lead singer), Dan on drums, and our son Jon on keys over on the left side of the stage.
This is the best picture I could get of Jon on the keyboard. Timing pictures with Bryan's strobes was a challenge. Plus, the floor was rocking!!
Mike has boundless energy and fabulous performance skills. He's so much fun to watch!
This was the only picture I could get of my oldest son, Ben. He was out front working on the drums before the show. During the show he's backstage...out of sight, but not out of mind!
The crowd was pretty entertaining too....lots of crowd surfing and frenzied mosh pits.
This is Jeremy on guitar. The man has a great voice and like Mike gives his all during a performance.
The show was amazing and it's always great to hang out with these talented guys. Spent the rest of the weekend exploring Milwaukee, visiting the Milwaukee Art Museum, wandering the Third Ward and spending time with my hubby. It was a great way to spend the holiday weekend. Hope you had a good one too.
so all your boys are in the band? how neat - I lived in Milwaukee back in 72-73 and loved it, have only been back once though loved the art and history museum.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great experience!
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteOne of my sons is in the band, Jon plays keyboards and my other son Ben works for the band. He does back of the house sound, drum tech and is their stage manager.
What fun, the band looks great. Happy Easter Jacquie.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos - especially that first one. I know what you mean about earplugs, lol. I went to see The Fray with a friend of mine a couple of years ago and didn't realize I should bring earplugs. Hooo Boy!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a talented family!
ReplyDeleteso fun at the RAVE! My son, Kevin says that THEY are a great band! :) glad you had a goos time while here in MKE!
ReplyDeleteSuch fantastic photos! Sounds like a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYou have to be so very proud, Mom. What a perfect weekend, family and art museum.
ReplyDeleteHi Jacquie! I'm glad you enjoyed Milwaukee and spent some time with your sons! And we're pretty proud of our art museum around here, so that's great that you spent some time there too. : )

ReplyDeleteEikes! You should have come to visit me. I only live about 20 minutes from the Third Ward. Next time!
ReplyDeleteI think I said this last time, but I absolutely love that you go to your sons' gigs! Especially considering they are on the heavy end of the musical spectrum. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool that you got to see your boys in action. What talented sons. They are, by far, your greatest 'creations'!
ReplyDeleteJon Gering's remixes are brilliant. I still have 'Someone Like You' doing heavy rotation on my ipod at the gym.
ReplyDeleteAny more remixes in the works?
Regards from Gail in Wa State
