Embracing Little Blue

Here is Little Blue again with all 12 blocks completed and rotated randomly. I can't tell you how much I appreciated all the suggestions for how to "fix" this. I tried a couple of blocks with another color fabric added and that would have really helped the quilt if I had started that way. I simply didn't want to rip it apart and change everything. So all 12 blocks are done. I made a giant red polka dot applique flower that I thought I would add, but that's just what it looks like, an afterthought. (no picture..it was embarrassingly hideous!) I think I need to embrace the gentle colors and to paraphrase Wanda (so wise, she is) all quilts aren't stars. I do like the design of the block and how the outside logs hook in randomly to their mates in the half log cabin part of the block. I'm thinking about a simple white border. I used every inch of the fabric I was given so I need to think about the backing and binding and see what I have. Time to finish it up so it can be on its way to a child at KU Med!

Oh yes it looks lovely! Just so sweet. If I realized you'd have to unpick I wouldn't have suggested adding sashing - geesh I hate unpicking lol!

Did you see that you won a giveaway on Two Cold Feet?! Congrats!

Your finished quilt top is adorable. You did a lovely job. See, you didn't need ideas from the "peanut gallery" - you trusted your instincts and it worked out fine. (Although we all, I'm sure, are happy to chime in with an opinion! You just don't necessarily need to listen to us.)

From one Tar Heel to another, how could you doubt the fact that the colors on this quilt are PERFECT?? I'd be happy to take it off your hands ... I'd put it on my son's bed and start trying to make him catch Carolina Fever early. Maybe you should applique a big basketball on it?! Or Roy's head??! : )

OK, I just came your way via Pinky,...not sure what you were trying to fix on this lovely little quilt, but it looks quite perfect to me, as is.

I'm here because you said you were a teacher....I was wondering if you had any insight to this situation.....

I like what you've done with this quilt! it looks fantastic. I think sometimes a second opinion is just the ticket. i have a quilt that I was stuck on for months and yesterday when my friend was over we decided how to change it to make it better....something I couldn't have done on my own.

Lovely, serene, crisp quilt Jacquie. Outstanding work ...let us know how the hunt for backing goes....how large is it..... just in case?
