When Fabric Inspires...Peekaboo!

What's a girl to do? I found this darling baby print fabric and the peachy fabric at the sale this weekend. They were both about 36"x36". I dove into them like a crazy woman with an idea. Sometimes fabric speaks to me. Can't believe I wrote that, sounds a bit nutty, but it's true. I'm loving it, it's fun, sweet, whimsical and cute. Did I tell you how much I love this fabric! I thought the fabric needed to be highlighted so I framed it with the peach print and some solid peach and a cream I had in my stash, in a slightly wonky way of course. I thought that solid peach was soooo ugly after I bought it, but with this, it's perfect. I'm having a ball using up every inch of the baby print. Don't you just love the little baby peekaboos on the outside of the blocks? I'm gushing. I don't know why I'm making this or for who, but it doesn't matter a bit. This is quilting joy!

Precious fabric. I really like how you have bordered it with the peach, and how clever to put peek-a-boo squares in the borders. I look forward to seeing the completed quilt.

That is wonderful fabric!!! How sweet!!! I often see a fabric and know that it is calling my name!! .....much to my husbands dismay! :P

So cute! I get what you mean when you say the fabric speaks to you - it is so fun, to get excited like that :) Wherever it lands it will be well loved!

Your confession is not at all nutty. Why wouldn't we be inspired into designs by the way a piece of fabric speaks to us. Other crafters and artists do the same, why not fabric artist :)

The only time we should worry is when nothing inspires the urge the create in us. We continue to grow by experimentation and exploration no matter where the source of inspiration comes from.

Cheers to you for being excited about the creation process and sharing it with us.

Fabric ABSOLUTELY speaks! I hear it calling me all too often (though, unfortunately for the bank account, it calls to me for purchasing far more often than actually *using* it ;) )... That looks GORGEOUS and the peach fabric couldn't be a better compliment to the babies!

You showcase the cute prints so well. There is no need for an intricate pattern.

That is the sweetest fabric, Jacquie! The sneek peak has me begging for more.

I can totally relate to buying fabric because it called to me. LOL Those fabric voices must be listened to, you know. ;o)
