I had 3 quilts basted and ready to go this weekend. Finished one, started and stopped quilting on the peek-a-boo baby quilt 3 times. I tried free motion, but ended up ripping and ripping. I couldn't find the groove. Now I'm taking out all the basting and starting over. I hope I didn't ruin it. It's so stretched and out of shape with all the quilting/ripping cycles. Back to the drawing board on that one.
I haven't read a blog for days...my google reader is overflowing. I try to blog without obligation, and for the most part I do. I do, however, enjoy reading your blogs and so I get a bit stressed when the time just isn't there. Do you worry about those kind of things? Gotta run! Have a fab week!

Lovely! I agree completely, it's so satisfying to take a throw-away and turn it into something both useful and beautiful.

My reader got jammed the weekend I changed computers, too. Seems everyone had something to say and I hated joining in so late!

Gorgeous sweet quilt - love the soft colours! I am finding it increasingly more difficult to keep up with all my blog reading and answering comments as well. Trouble is, I keep finding so many great blogs to add to bloglines!
It reminds me of something I had as a little girl in the 70's. I love it!
I love this - and am on a hunt for similar sheets/fabrics (Jessie saw your blog - she enjoys reading them with me) and told me she has to have one like this to cuddle up with in the summer. You did a fantastic job quilting this!!

I can't think how you got that wonderful effect of tulips on the back .... is it grid quilted? Shall have a look on flickr and see if I can work it out.
The bloglines/googlereaders are a bit stressful I must say and also have noticed quite a few of the blogs I read and comment on regularly do not ever comment back and are unapologetic so maybe we could take away something from them ......it does seem to be one sided but people keep coming back to these blogs. I think commenting on one in four or one a week is enough really otherwise the joy goes out of the whole thing...becomes a chore really. Yours is never a chore though Jacquie!

Pink quilts are such fun, aren't they? I, unfortunately, have only boys, so I'm stuck with non-girly stuff, unless it's for me! The quilting looks great!

To answer anonymous's question: i use my mom's Bernina Artista 165 and i use a walking foot.

I hear you on blogging w/o obligation, but there is so much cool stuff going on all the time that it is hard when you can't keep up. I love the inspriation that others' work gives me - it's like my own personal stash of beauty. When I start to feel guilty for not keeping up with the posts and comments I try to recall what it was like before there were blogs - and remain thankful that people are kind enough to take the time to share. Just having the opportunity to surf is amazing and a true technological feat.
Btw, I also agree about the one comment per four posts guideline by magikquilter. But it really is just that: a guideline. We all have lives that demand attention and priority. Just having people stop by for a quick look at my freshman blog is an honor. I hope that my comments provide the same for others too.
I also hope that I'm not violating a blogger code of ethics or anything, but I don't 'subscribe' to any feeds. That way when I have time to look at other blogs I do, and comment when something strikes me. My inbox remains clear of any reminders of how out of sync/ behind I may actually be. I compensate for all of this by giving credit where credit is due for my knitting and sewing projects. I may not comment all the time, but I try my best to always list where my ideas and inspriations come from.

i know exactly how you feel about reading blogs - some days i get so far behind that i almost panic at the thought of having to read and comment. that's why i ended up having a break. i'm refreshed now and i've cut down on the amount of blogs i read.

*Gorgeous*! The quilting on the tulips is perfect! I love that it's so dainty and girly (and yes, we have girly love here in this house with three little girls)! It might have taken some time and ripping, but the end result is perfect :)
