Serendipity

I went ahead and made these euro shams. Love the block, love the quilting, love the colors, but they look hideous on the bed. So, I carried them around the house looking for a place that they might work. I really didn't want to waste all that time, effort and fabric.

So, how about we spice up the living room? What do you think? I think the pillows pick up the colors in the painting. Serendipity! I love when things just kinda work out.

Kinda creepy, don't you think!

Ummm...but...you just...put that out...during...Halloween season...right?!...???

LOVE the pillows! Did they need more friends to look good on the bed? But darn...perfect for those two chairs...so who cares, right?!

Great job on the pillows Jacquie! They do look great in those chairs. That alien hand is really icky. I'm sitting here eating beef-mushroom pizza and the mushroom color is very similar to the color of that hand. I think I'm done eating. :\

The question up there underneath leave you comment says, "So, what are you thinking?"
I am thinking that this is such a lovely room and I am again and again thinking, that you are such a creative person, and I am thinking that my 70's plaid carpet has to go, as does the darned dark paneling....then I am thinking that this will just not happen.
I always marvel at what you do and enjoy looking at all of your creations. So beautiful! happy weekend to you!

Cozy living room...and lovely pillows. i love the color, but not the "hand" haha...
I enjoy reading your post about your dad. Reminds me of my dad too who past away 10 years ago. He loves mechanical and electricity tools too and always fix the car by himself. Oh..how I missed him.

I like that the pillows echo the geometry of the rug, too.

As for the hand, well, Jacquie, I am astonished at you! That looks like it belongs in MY house, not yours! There's hope for you yet. 8^)

Yikes! That hand is yicky! The pillows are not, they look totally stylin' there on your chairs.

ugh on the hand, wow on the pillow covers! love the colors. You are so lucky to have such a handy dad...the perfect quilt rack for sure!

Ohhhh those are pretty! Looks like a Pottery Barn ad when they are in your living room (and that is a good thing I am saying). how did you quilt them when you had already made them into shams (a few posts back?)

Is that your real life living room? It's so cool! And the cushions look fantastic in it (love your carpet and your chairs)

Not loving that spooky hand, it's a bit too realistic...looks like you've been grave robbing! (please tell me it's not a permanent fixture!)

My first thought when I saw the hand was...someone has been doing too much sewing

Great cushions ...would also work beautifully on a porch or sunroom, somewhere with wicker chairs

Oh, yes. I more than love your pillows. And honestly you could have them adorning your garage -- and your incredible knack for choosing colors and your amazing quilting would make it a dream garage.

Oh c'mon girls... The hand is just laying there minding it's own business, and at the same time it's keeping the kiddies away from the fireplace isn't it Jacquie!! Heh heh heh... love it!! Love a bit of shock value... the cushions look gorgeous...I like your taste!! Lx

Love the cushions! They look great, but don't you hate it when you put a lot of time in and they look great, but not quite what you had in mind.

I simply love the pillows. They make a lovely addition to your living room. And yes that was creepy. Would be very popular with my teenage boy crowd.

Magpie Sue said...

Have you noticed that the pattern of your area rug mimics the blocks you piece? Was that purposeful?

Personally, I love the hand!
