Making and Receiving Gifts

I've been cutting these...

to make another quilt like this one. The tutorial is almost done. Amazing how different fabric choices can change a quilt.

My Christmas in July package has arrived! (after an unplanned detour) It came all the way from Norway from Anne Marie's house. She sent me all of these things snuggled into this beautiful bag.

I think this book might be my favorite thing. It's so wonderful to see the work of quilters from another part of the world.

Thank you so much Anne Marie. I appreciate all the work you put into my gift. They will all find special places in my house.

Although your package took an unplanned "vacation" it was certainly worth the wait. Beautiful and thoughtful gifts from Anne Marie and that book looks beautiful.

Owww great colors!! I have fallen in love with orange; and your Christmas in July goodies are just amazing, love all the things that tell a story of her country, very special.

I like how you group the colours in the quilt, rather than scatter them. It creates a very different feel.

Beautiful color combination! Can you share how you do the wavy quilting on the other coin quilt you made? thanks!

The quilt you are working on is just so happy and beautiful! It will be a winner. So glad to hear that your Christmas in July swap made it to your home. Oh and by the way, the last of the Project Improv quilts have all been quilted and are now making their journey back to you!! Let me know when they arrive.

I am SO happy Anne Marie's gift reached you safely. I am almost in tears at the happy ending.. because I was so afraid it was lost forever, and I knew how upset she was. Lovely gifts. I've received gifts from her before too.. she is always so thoughtful and sends just the nicest stuff!

It is true. I am actually working on two quilts (one for myself and another for my sister) using ONE layer cake. No pictures yet since I need to complete the backing and the rest. Plus I plan to take a few days off to finish off my academic journal for submission. Too many things to do and too little time.

Lovely gift and the coins quilt's colors are wonderful. The book - String Art Quilt - would you be willing to share the author and publisher? I tried to track the book down with just the title and had no luck. Thanks.
