'Quiet Power', my quilt with the Yoshiko Jinzenji fabric. I'm not sure you can see the quilting. It was very different that any other piece in the room.
A wall of illuminated quilts.
A place for smaller pieces.
A magical atmosphere courtesy of Tommy and his classical guitar.
Opportunities to connect with old and new friends and to talk about my work.
A few more sales to cap off the night.
A good time was had by all, especially me.
Thanks to everyone who has attended and supported me in this venture. I'm hoping that it won't be a once in a lifetime experience. I'm applying for a new show at a local art center. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I'm taking a little break...I need to do some catching up around here...cleaning...finishing commission work, thank you gifts, blog reading...I'm behind in so many things. See you soon!
So happy that you enjoyed your show. Enjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteJacquie, What a fabulous display of your quilts! You should be so proud of yourself. I so wish I could have come, but that would have required me to be in your neck of the woods. Someday!! Congrats on finishing up, you earned your break!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a successful show!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your little break.

ReplyDeleteMy goodness! I haven't been following you long enough to realize you are such a pro! All of those quilts are yours!!! I always find such inspiration from your blog. Don't stay away too long!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that it was such a success for you. Amazing, really wish I could have seen it in person. Who knows? Maybe someday you'll have a traveling show...
ReplyDeleteI think I might have commented previously about this - but it is wonderful to see your quilts recognized for their artistry. That is a nice way to wind up summer - good luck for your next show - we'll keep our fingers crossed that it comes about. Curious though about the quiet power quilt. I tried to tell by clicking to enlarge it but is the 'background' fabric printed or is it applique and stitched. Really an appropriate name for the quilt. Cleaning! that's what I should be doing!
ReplyDeleteI love the Quiet Power quilt, so beautiful! Actually, I love all of your work and I'm glad you are receiving recognition for your artistry.
