Speaking of fabric fanatics. Have you heard of the Fabfanatic site? It's a fabric coop that allows quilters, or any fabric lover to buy designer fabrics at a reduced price. It's an interesting concept. I signed up to give it a try to see how it works. They have Denyse Schmidt's new line, Hope Valley for a great price.
I'd be interested to know what you all think about it.
no name on this one...but it's by blank quilting pattern #BTR 3972
the large letter are from American Jane's Peas and Carrots (it's out of print)

well, you know I already signed up too :-)
Running over right now to give it a looksy. Super fun fabric in your post. I have a small amount of newspaper fabric from years back. I found it in a discount fabric store. I like the printed stories on yours a lot more than the one on mine. Happy quilting!
Never heard of that but I'll be reading your comments because it sounds like a great deal!
Love all your graffiti fabrics.
Now look what you made me do. Not only did I sign up, but I reserved fabric as well... I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes.
How fun! Love those.
That sounds like a great site! I'm in!! I have some great newsprint fabric too and tons of black and white words. Terrific for a graffiti quilt. What a neat concept.
Although it seems like a good program, I wish you could view the prices prior to reserving the fabric. They have nice fabrics though.
I hope it ends up being a good site - I reserved fabric last week, and since seeing your post, decided to up it a bit... i just can't help myself!
Here's an idea for you and this quilt - you could print a letter you've written, your son has written, or anything hand done on fabric to create a personal touch to the graffiti quilt. Or maybe a signature repeat?
what a fun collection of fabric!
wondering what wonderful things you're going to do with it!!
Love, Love, Love it. I have seen this in a catalog and been hunting for it.
I will have to sign up. I love text!!!
Aack - my mother searched for that top newsprint for months last year. She bought some in a local shop, but then she couldn't find it again. Do you know where you got it?
Love all the word fabric! The site sounds good. I signed up. Worry a little about buying fabric I will not know the exact price for.
I love the newspaper print fabric. Do you know what it is? where did you get it?
I'll have to check out the fabric co-op link. Sounds promising!
Oh I absolutely LOVE this fabric, they are all terrific but I especially love the numerical ones. Can't wait to see what you do with them.
i posted what i know about the fabrics. i got most of them at my local quilt shop. drop me an email if you need more information.
I’m suffering from a déformation professionnelle.. something I would love to make... one day. A quilt completely made from letter and number fabrics.
Can’t wait to see what you’re going to make!
Those are such cool fabrics, can't wait to see what you design with them!
I love that newsprint fabric...thanks for the link!
Oh boy, more fabric to buy!!! Thanks, I am heading right over!!!
I love the newspaper prints, or recipe prints - I don't have enough!
Hugs - Lurline♥
Thanks for the tip - with the rising price of fabrics (along with everything else) it seems worth a try. I signed up - but was confused - do you find out the price after you reserve it and if you reserve it does that mean you buy it? I may email them and ask - or go back and reread - sometimes I miss things the first time. What a great collection of 'writing' fabric. Will it all go into one quilt - or in more than one - or stash? Such possibilities with it all.
I love the newsprint fabric... this is going to be a very interesting black and white quilt...
Oooh, a graffiti quilt sounds fabulous! I LOVE fabrics with words and letters. Can't wait to see your quilt!
i had a friend in a fabric coop that had a less than a good experience. (not this one, i'm almost certain.) i hope it goes well.
Jacquie, can't wait to see what you do with the Authentic line!!!
Those are going to become a really cool quilt! I can't wait to see what you are going to do. Gonna go check out that website now...
looking forward to seeing the quilt...I can't quite wrap my mind around words in a quilt...I'd spend allmy time trying to read the quilt and getting frustrated when at the edges of each piece!
OMG!!!
I love this!!!
I'm going to search them in France....
Great prints! Thanks for the link I'm going over to check it out.
I registered with the site and reserved the new Denyse Schmidt...for those wondering after you register and click the reserve on a fabric, it shows you the prices, but you actually have to fill out the 'form' to reserve it...so you can view all the prices first. Hope it goes well =)
I simultaneously thank and curse you for introducing me to Fabfanatic! Just what I need -- more fabric!
Love the graffiti idea!
I've heard of on-line co-ops but I have never found one. Thanks for sharing... headed there now. :)
Great concept and great collection!
Thanks for the fabric link, will have to check it out!
I think it sounds like an interesting idea, but, you lose the personal connection to your local quilt shop, and the folks there who are such helpful cheerleaders, and, I just can't wrap my head around buying fabric I can't see and touch in real life. No matter how good the photography, textiles have an entirely different personality in person. And I don't want to know that people might go to their local shop to peruse what they then buy online.
You can't tell I grew up in small town retail can you?
love those new fabrics that you've acquired. Can't wait to see how the graffiti quilt turns out
I'm pretty sure you black fabric with the little letters by the American Jane big letters is also American Jane building blocks. I've got some of it in light blue.
Will look at fabfanatics!
Love those fabrics - I have a bit of a thing for fabric with writing on it.
I like that site but it seems pretty new. I am wondering if anyone has actually gotten fabric from them yet? I am hesitant to pay someone for fabric when they do not have any reviews or members posted. I would love to be able to see a rating system like they have on etsy or something similar before buying from them.
As far as pricing, it says in the sign up e-mail that you can e-mail them for the pricing list. So I did. It came promptly and most of the lines are under $7.
I don't think I will buy until I can hear from some other members who have purchased and received fabric.
I would also like to know if anyone has received any fabric from this co-op. I'm waiting almost three months now for a good amount of $ of Hope valley fabric. No sign of it, and the date keeps getting pushed back. Someone recently commented that they haven't been getting emails returned, and I noticed the fabfanatic ebay shop no longer exists and there's only like 4 things for sale on the fabfanatic etsy site and they only have 4 feedbacks?!?! WTH? Has anyone actually RECEIVED any fabric?!?!
never mind about the ebay site, it must be linked incorrectly from the fabfanatic site itself- as I did find the ebay site when I did a search. But still, I'm wary at this point.
I am also waiting on fabric ordered in November and have yet to receive it. They are also not responding to emails about fabric status. I would suggest that anyone thinking about joining fabfanatic wait until they've improved their shipping and communication. Has anyone received anything yet?!?
i received the fabric i ordered from them. it was a long wait, but maybe that's the price for getting the price i paid. i haven't decided if this is for me yet. as someone said above, the selection isn't huge and seems to be dropping. i keep checking in, though.
