MQG, Apartment Therapy and ME!!

Ever have one of those days when you're questioning everything you make, nothing is good enough, maybe not good at all? And then, something comes along that makes you legitimate, at least in someone else's mind. Check out this link. The Modern Quilt Guild gets recognized and someone at Apartment Therapy, yes, I said APARTMENT THERAPY, thinks my quilt is modern and cool. My quilt and my name are on Apartment Therapy. I can't believe I just wrote that. (Insert happy dance, giddy squeals, and self pinching to test if it's really true.) Check out the other quilts too...I know there are some other folks doing the happy dance!
I made some quilt backs...

...and then just to make sure my head didn't get too big...don't ask...I'm simply a klutz and it's too embarrassing to tell you.

Just a reminder...the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild meets tomorrow (Wednesday) at Harper's Fabrics in old Overland Park. Come at 6:30, meeting starts at 7:00. You don't want to miss it!

ROCKSTAR LADY! Congrats on the shout out :) And I'm totally loving the spiderwebs turned into pinwheels - just think how lovely that would be if you butted a whole bunch of those blocks up against each other!

i am really digging the "hi quilt" that is also on the link.

Jacquie, so fabulous for you!! Happy dance going on here. But ouch, what on earth did you do to your hand. Hopefully, it doesn't impair your sewing for too long. Okay, so I wish I was meeting you at Harper's. I stopped at that shop when I was out your way 2 years ago and really liked it. We ate at a little place right across the street. Then went to Penzey's Spices.

And your quilt was even the first one listed!! Awesome job, YOU ROCK!

Your heart needed creative validation and the universe responded! (That's called a Godwink in some circles).
Please, don't ever doubt your abilities again. You don't have a follower button but if you did you'd realize that there are hundreds of quilters out in blogland who LOVE and ENVY your creativity.
So, do a happy dance! Eat some chocolate!Have an ice cream cone! And then put a frozen steak on that wrist....
♥♥

Yikes! I hope your hand is better soon! Congratulations on the Apartment Therapy nod -- although, in my mind, you're MUCH bigger than Apartment Therapy -- I'll bet they're squealing because THEY got mentioned on YOUR blog.

And hope you have fun at the quilt meeting -- I've actually been to Harper's so I can just imagine you meeting there. Oh, and now that I think of it...if you see the old Viking sewing machine (it's green - circa mid-60s)that the owner uses as a window display, ask her if she'd like to sell it to me LOL!

Congratulations! That quilt IS stunning!

ah! i hope your hand gets better.

and yes, you quilts are some of the coolest ones i've ever seen. and i have to tell you...you and your blog and quilts were brought up several times at the first meeting of the houston chapter, modern quilt guild. especially that red and aqua one you raffled last summer.

Love iT!!! Thanks for being so honest, and keeping it real :) I'm such a klutz, oh my, I almost sewed my finger the other day with my Grandquilter!! agghh!!! took my nail off a bit, so thankful that was it! btw I love Overland Park! My husband grew up there, and I'd love to get us back, pretty sure it will never happen, but one can dream!

Any injuries are outweighed by the coolness of your new status.

Congratulations!

It looks just fabulous in spite of the injury.

Before I even read the post I thought - wow that quilt looks fabulous! Congrats!!! I was featured on Ohdeedoh (AT's little kid site) for some Stitched Handprints I do and I was giddy as all get out for the SAME REASON: someone out there likes my creation!!!

Congrats again - and I think a MQG might be starting up here in Lincoln *fingers crossed* otherwise I might have to drive 3 hours each way to your meetings!

I love your quilting style. I'm a newbie to quilting...I'm about to make my first quilt ever using Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing easy-lap quilt pattern. Any advice for a first-timer or books I should look at? I love following your blog. It's such an inspiration!!

So sorry to see your wrist under ice!!! Hope that it's better soon. I am now going to crawl out of my cave and investigate Apartment Therapy, which I've never, ever heard of. I'm sure it's HUGE, though (I am always a bit behind on these things) and fantastically awesome that your creations are featured - your quilts are really spectacular Jacquie, that's why we keep coming back here day after day...we can't wait to see what you come up with next...like selvedgey pinwheels - genius!
