Today I'm making stockings. Ours are very old and I have to admit I've never liked them. I'm using the
free pattern from Denyse Schmidt. What a lovely Christmas gift to us all! I'm making mine larger than her pattern. I love things that are oversized and make a statement.

I can't wait to show them to you. Do your stockings need a little update? Santa loves a little surprise every once and awhile!

I tried to update my stocking a few years back but my kids had such a fit!! "YOU can't change our stockings...we've had them since we were little!" So there you have it!! Apparently they like them as is!!
Can't wait to see yours!
P
I can't wait to see them! I'm all about huge stockings. Santa knows how much we all love magazines, so you need a long stocking to fit a roll of 4 mags in the top!
so funky and cute, you did a great job, I love them
I'm definitely going to try to make stockings for the hubs and I this Christmas... maybe ones for the kitties too hehe
Make sure to make it EXTRA large so Santa can fit all your good-girl gifts into it!
I think extra large is a very good idea. Ours are knit so they have the ability to stretch. Good thing too!
I am looking forward to seeing the ones that you make. Oh, happy day.
Love, e.
Cute stockings!! I think I should make new ones for the kids .
Looking forward to seeing yours all done! I unpacked this weekend and discovered that my 13 year old does not have a personalized stocking... she has been using generic all this time so I called my mom who made us quilted ones 15 years ago and guilted her a little and I am going to make both girls ones to match one my cousin made me 40 years ago... retro with english type initial out of red felt!
I've been planning to make new stockings for everyone this year. Even though there haven't been any kids in the house, we still put out stockings. This year my brother's daughter (who we haven't seen in 13 years!) will be joining us for Christmas. It seems like a great reason to make new stockings!
I wanted to make new stockings this year, but my older daughter, who is a senior in high school, was strongly against it! Maybe next year :)
Ours are nothing really exciting...yet they seem to be a tradition at this point. I love the DS stockings and can't wait to see yours!
