Hello 2012

The new year is a time to look forward rather than back.  Today I'm saying goodbye to 2011 by sending a fond farewell to my life in Kansas.
We sold our house in the country this month.  The moose is temporarily living at my parent's house. He's happy in his new home!
Many memories are attached to that house.  I took a walk around the property and through the house over Christmas and they all came flooding back.  It was a wonderful place to raise our children.
But an empty house is just that...empty.  It's time to make new memories in a new place.

2012 is going to be a wonderful year and a great quilty year too.  I am celebrating a quilting anniversary all during the month of January.  It's exhilarating to be sewing again and I can't wait to share new projects with you.  Stay tuned for an exciting month full of surprises!

Out with the Old, in with the New! That's what the New Year is all about! Been there and done that, many times! Now, we watch our daughter and Son-in-Law and grankids do the same. Finding your place is scary, fun and fulfilling! Happy New 2012 to you and your family! Kim C

I hope your Kansas home is going to a family who will love it as much as you did and make many wonderful memories there too! Thinking like that can make leaving so much sweeter.

I'm at a crossroads recently and am contemplating moving to be with my honey for good. I will be sad to leave the house where I raised my boys. That sticker struck a chord with me (literally) as my youngest has always been in a band. So many warm fuzzy memories ......

Thanks for being so positive and showing me that the future holds tons and tons of new possibilities. It's not so scary now.

P.S. I love Bruno.

Congratulations on the house sale! I'm so glad you got a chance to go and have that last walk and say good-bye.

Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned for 2012 :)

Happy New Year! Huge congrats on the house sale...I've been trying to sell mine for 5 years to no avail (thanks to lots of foreclosures in Georgia), so that would have been an amazing Christmas present - I'm trying not be too jealous of you! It was the house I built to raise my kids in, but now I live in Maryland and have found the father for my kids (and an amazing partner), so it makes for an easier trade! I'm just looking forward to not having the worry of it on my shoulders, and I imagine with that weight lifted, you'll find even more creative motivation (though I wonder if that is even possible!). I'm so excited about your book - can't wait to see it!

I am so glad you got your house sold, that will take some of the pressure off and allow the new year to start off on a very positive note.

I went through the same thing this year. In June we sold our country home of 25 years. It was a very difficult decision for me to make. Lots of waffling back and forth and lots of tears. But I'm glad now, and I'm looking forward. Thanks for your blog, I love it. Happy 2012.
