I loved the look inside your studios - I always find places people work to be so inspiring. I also loved seeing renditions of your quilts - especially Amber's Supernova!
I liked this book tour, it was different. I always love seeing others creative spaces. What stuck with me though was not necessarily the quilts themselves, even though I enjoyed them. It was what everyone kept saying about the concept of the book, how it was not patterns but procedural to help free us up as creative artists in our own right. I like that, and I need that!
Seeing other peoples studios/creative spaces it always inspiring to me
I was excited about seeing how others took the inspiration from your book and added their own creativity to a slightly different project! I especially loved the crazy placemats and plan to make something like that soon!
I was inspired by all that I saw during the party. Thanks for the opportunity.
I'd have to say the look inside the studios too. Amazing how you both do such wonderful work from such small spaces.
I would say that it was seeing how people were inspired by the book and how they used it to create their own quilts.
I loved seeing how other people were inspired by the quilts in the book and seeing how their style changed the way the design looked. I also loved the peek into your studio!
I loved the tour of the studios. I took a day and went in and re-organized my own studio. I went to IKEA and got a bunch of storage containers. I love the book and I also think that it is a great inspiration to think out side of the box. I enjoyed the whole weekend! Thanks
I really did love the studio tours too. I think I always envision everyone else having a palatial sized sewing room to do all that they do. But you and Katie showed that amazing creativity can happen in cozy spots just as well!
I have been addicted to your blog for months. Look every day at least once! Will have a copy of your new book whether I am lucky enough to win one or buy it! I am looking forward to seeing you this summer at the appleseed guild show in Fort Wayne, IN.
I love the pictures of your shattered quilt
I loved it all, the sewing space ideas, other people commenting on how you two have influenced how they quilt, the excitement of seeing photos of the quilts for the first time.
Favorite thing - the placemats.
I love the medallon quilt. Really want to try it!
I love the quilting you have done on the quilts!
For me it would be hard to choose just one..I think the placemats would be a good place for me to start. Looking forward to winning or buying this book it is so out of my box...Thanks for the chance to win..
I loved to see your working places. I also loved the look of the shattered quilt. Thanks!Anne RitaNorway
I loved reading about your studio.Marianne from Denmarkstofmutter.blogspot.com
I just happen to subscribe to a few of the blogs that were part of the party and got to read and see things made ~ great reviews of your book!
I love the "Red Pepper Quilts" book review and her beautiful version of your "Add It Up" quilt!http://www.redpepperquilts.com/2012/06/book-review-quilting-modern.html
I loved the studio tour, the techniques and all those fabulous quilts.
I really enjoyed the book tour. I especially liked Carol's placemats, of course inspired by the ones in the book. It helps me remember that small projects can be just as creative and innovative as quilts.
I loved the studio tour. I always like to see other's spaces and get good ideas from them. I liked seeing the pictures from the book on the review blogs. I definitely need to get this book!
I liked looking at the other studio's and the book review.http://richardquilts.blogspot.com
I love seeing other people's sewing spaces.
I liked the look into your studios best. Not having a dedicated sewing room myself, I found it inspiring to see that one can create wonderful things in a small space. Plus, a fabric stash is always eye-candy! :-)Thanks for the generous giveaway!
Love seeing where everyone creates! I ordered your book yesterday! Can hardly wait for it to arrive!
I liked the pod quilt, the tv quilt, and the seaglass quilt. I drove across 4 states over the weekend and had your book in mind as I got ideas for quilts from things I saw.
Love the placemats and would really like to see the book.
I loved seeing where you and Katie create. You both have clever ideas for keeping organized and efficient, so that we can see that this is doable - no matter what space we have available.Thoroughly enjoyed seeing glimpses of the projects in your book and then other's versions. Thrilled to hear how your book is about unleashing our creativity, through great instruction and bountiful inspiration.Great blog hop!
Loved the studio tour..And all the project's are soooo great. This was a great blog hop..
The best part of this tour is that it felt really laid back compared to other book tours. Everyone just loved the book (and you and Katie), and that came through in their reviews. It's about the process and enjoying what you do!
I found you through the tour from Debbi's blog, "Around The Table" and so glad I did! I'm inspired by the technique's, so many new to me as I'm fairly new to quilting. I'm anxious to get this new book! Thank you!
You are so silly... who could ever just pick ONE thing. I know that my Reader account grew by leaps and bounds this weekend. Great fun.
I haven't gotten to see every one of the links yet as I was out of town all weekend for a wedding and no time to do much online. But what I've seen is fantastic. I even dropped in at a local quilt show for an hour and looked for the book but didn't see it. Maybe not out to shops yet?
Everything inspired me. I've been wanting to try a more improv approach for some time because my quilts are usually very planned. From all I read, your book seems to be just what I need to help me jump in and give it a try.
Seeing all the quilts is always inspiring, but seeing your studio and how you manage in a small space is very helpful since we will be moving later this year and I might have to give up my large, former family room......
i love oneshabbychic amber's quilt!
I loved seeing how people used a technique to come up with their own version! To me that's so much more fun than following a pattern to duplicate a quilt.
I was reminded through several examples how quilting, the actual quilting of a quilt or project, can really be impactful (not just hold the thing together, which is kind of my goal!)
I love that you are teaching a process that results in an individual piece for everyone that does a project. I also loved seeing all the gorgeous quilts that the two of you created.
I really liked how Kathy Mack gave an overview of what is covered in the book--it really made me see that this is a book totally set apart from the rest!
Love the studio tour! Just found you through Happy Zombie's blog and know I'll be back. Does this enter me for the book drawing? (I hope, I hope) I'm a new quilter and finding that modern is right up my alley. Thanks!
The best thing I saw this weekend was how all of the improv projects still looked wonderful and put together. Really, everything was so inspiring!! Great job guys!
seeing all the blog posts has made me even more excited to see this book.
I like how complimentary folks have been of you and Katie and the way you've pushed trends and freedom in the quilting world with your inspiring work.n
Thanks for sharing more views of your processes! I'd love to get your book in my hands!
What a great way to spend the weekend...checking out inspiring quilt blogs! email@example.com
Maybe three will be a charm. I liked the peeks into studios. I'd type more but Blogger doesn't seem to want me to do this. Thank you for the opportunity to see some of the great new things happening in the quilting world.
I loved having a peek inside your book, and I always like to look around studios and quilting spaces to see if I can make things work better in mine. The other thing I enjoyed was the spin other artist take on projects and what they value inside a book. Thanks again, it was lots of fun Margit
I also loved seeing your work spaces, but I really enjoyed seeing the peeks inside the book and some "covers" of your quilts by great quilters like Ashley at FITF and Rita at RPQ. Thanks!!
I love to see your studios and how you organize the stash.Thanks.firstname.lastname@example.org
Well, in addition to seeing your studio/livudios, I liked Angela's post -seeing what the quilter wants to make is interesting! How fun it would have been to sit down with the two of you and discuss wilting ideas for the book-like I told her, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation with the three of you!
It's hard to choose just one thing. I loved seeing how different people make their own versions of the quilts. I loved all the sneak peeks of various quilts from the book (making me want the book even more :)) and I loved seeing your sewing spaces.
I loved everything I saw this weekend but I think the fractured quilt or placemats are my favorite!Awesome work ladies.
I'm so glad to leave another comment for another chance to win - thanks! I read all the blog hop posts and I am 100% convinced I will buy this book. I loved how everyone commented it was a book you could take the technique then do something on your own - I like that.
I visited all the blogs for the party Sat and Sun except whipup and fatquarterly (no post up). It was nice to have the studio tour (you are so organized). The various perspectives on your book were great. Using your book for a jumping off spot to make "my own improv" quilt is much less scary. I liked how all the blogs posted within a day of each other with lots of different quilts featured. It provided an in depth book review. Congratulations to both of you on your achievement!
I loved the pillow on Happy Zombie!
My favorite thing about the party was seeing so many different quilts from the book and seeing quilts inspired by those designs. You definitely got great reviews on content and clarity of the book. Well done!
I've had a fabulous time at your party! What an amazing book! There are so many things I want to try. I've already ordered a copy online, can't wait until it gets here.
I really enjoyed peeking into everyone's studio!! Thanks for the fun and inspiration!
Loved the studio tours as well as the peeks inside the book. Looks like a great addition any quilting library.
I loved reading that this book is not about following a pattern, but a concept or technique. Leaves lots of creativity for us!
The most fun thing I read this weekend was Agatha H and the Clockwork Princess. It's so fun! :)Congratulations on your book party blast!
I'm fascinated by quilter's work places - what a treat for me to see this - thanks! Take care, Byrd
i loved the workspaces, but seeing how all the bloggers made the quilts in the book their own was amazing and inspiring! congrats on what seems to be a great book!
I loved all of the energy and excitement everyone had over the book. So much, that several made multiple projects! Your book is definitely on my wishlist for when my husband picks up some overtime!
What a lot of energy flowing on the web. I have never seen so much chatter about a book. Love it! Can't wait to try some of the techniques.
I loved seeing the different versions of your 'patterns' and also getting the tours of where you create! Thanks and congrats on what looks like a great book!steeplechaser29 at yahoo dot com
I love house crashing & seeing where others create.
I loved seeing everyone using the book as a jumping off place- giving the power to the people.
It was a great party, can't wait to get my book, it should be here tomorrow!
I don't know if I could pick out the best thing, I just loved seeing tidbits from the book and what everyone's making from it.
The best thing was seeing the quilts in your book, gorgeous!
The stitch and flip triangle technique has intrigued me the most and I want to try it out. I've enjoyed seeing everyone's projects based on the book. very inspirational.
I really like the stitch & flip quilts, but my favorite of all the bloggers was Rashida Coleman-Hale's Circle Mat. I just loved the colors and the sweet simplicity of it. This book is an inspiration.
I loved all the shots of the quilts and projects in the book. You are both such inspiring artists.
I have to say I am impressed with your sewing areas. I've had your book on my wish list and now want it more than ever. I am struck by the creativity your book inspires. All of the bloggers talking about it this weekend stated how they took your designs and felt free to improvise or change. That is how I like to quilt. I rarely follow the pattern to completion.
I enjoyed seeing your studio, its good to see how other quilters organize fabric, and scraps... thanks for the giveaway.
I am pleased that your instructions are thorough. I am a beginner and need the techniques in addition to inspiration. I'd love a copy of your book. Please enter me in the giveaway. Thank you.
Lovely! Congratulations to you and thanks for the give away!
I loved seeing the studio photos. :)
Inspiring! Thanks for the giveaway.raybanfandango at hotmail dot com
So inspiring to see all the photos of great work spaces! Ive thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for a fabulous tour! I loved seeing the wonderful quilts and especially the quilting!
Loved it all! Read all the posts on the tour and enjoyed seeing the inspiration documented there, plus your work spaces!
Really wanting to try thr triangle method! Would LOVE to own this book!
I so want to win this book...I just love all of your quilts and your eye for color and design. Pick me! Lisa in Texas
Loved seeing ya'lls workspaces! Thanks so much!!!
I really enjoyed seeing inside your studios. I also enjoyed seeing what a lot of the bloggers that I love reading did with the projects in the book. While I may not follow a pattern in a book exactly, I really love seeing other's work for inspiration.
It was a fun party and I discovered a couple blogs I had not visited before. I love the fractured quilt and am thinking of making a quilt with four or more fractures sewn in patchwork style.I have a gift certificate at a LQS and will see if they have the book.
I can't WAIT to check out the book. Hopefully next week we'll be able to get to the mall so I can pick up a cope!!
