Grateful!

pods runner
I sat last night and read the book again, savored the pictures and remembered some of the times that Katie and I had during the writing process.  Thanks to Angela for reminding me of our quilting idea meetings.  We sure had fun brainstorming together.  I still have the drawings we made! Thank you to the 15 friends who took the time to read and write their thoughts on the book, for being inspired to sew and for being part of this fabulous community.  Thanks to all of you who came along for the ride who are buying the book and making projects.

Speaking of projects, take a gander at Cathy's version of the Sardinia tablerunner.  I love the colors she used.  She has a bunch of mini pods that are going to turn into something.  I can't wait to see what she does with them.  So many of you have emailed and sent pictures of your work.  Katie and I can't thank you enough for sharing with us and for all your kind words.

It wouldn't be a wrap up without thanking the team at Interweave....Elaine for your editorial hand, Joe for those amazing photographs that I simply can't stop drooling over, the design team, and the PR team.  Jaime, thanks for being our party planner and Cate for getting the word out on Quilting Daily and Sew Daily!

Writing a book is a team project and we had a great team behind us.

My son was in Minneapolis last night and of course headed out to the Mall of America.  He called me and tweeted to let me know that he was in Barnes and Noble and guess what was on the shelf?
He actually dragged his friends to the craft section to show them his mom's quilting book.  Is that a great kid or what?  Our families have probably been the most important part of this team.  We couldn't have done it without you.

I'll draw the winner of the book tomorrow.  There's still time to leave a comment to win.  If you don't win, drop by your local quilt shop and pick up a copy.

Now, it's time for new directions and new designs!

When my daughter was a book editor, whenever I was at a store carrying her authors' books, I would be sure to move them to prominent places on the shelves.

well deserved. I took my copy to my Gwen Marston Abstract in Solids workshop and passed it around. It's a great book for my library.

I have really enjoyed blog hopping your book reviews and sneaky peeks Are there any plans to release it for kindle/ebook? I love reading and using quilting books from my tablet, makes it all so much easier for me to be organised.

I love books too though, so it's on my wishlist, for sure!

What a wonderful son:) When my son was still living at home, he would casually wander into my sewing room, perch on a stack of fabric. We had many heart to heart chats while I worked on a quilt.
