I realized that I never posted about this quilt. "Balancing Act" was on the cover of American Quilter magazine. There is a long story behind this quilt, but suffice it to say that at the time I made it, my life was a bit out of balance. 2014 is starting that way too, but I'm working to find that balance between creating, work, and family. The quilt now belongs to my mom and hangs in her "modern" family room.

It's a beautiful quilt, and a great photo too. I hope you find the balance soon.
While your life may well be out of balance, your quilting is spot on, girl! Fabulous quilt. Hope things smooth out for you soon.
I love this quilt, Jacquie and the article was wonderful.....and yes this balance thing can be so tricky.
beautiful quilt .. I've decided that it is okay to be unbalanced -- it's all part of the curves life has thrown at us ...
it all works out in the end.
It is bright, loving, and beautiful!
Fabulous quilt! So original:)
This is one of my fave quilts of yours. Thanks for sharing. Lucky MOM!!
I love this quilt! It was so fun reading about it and learning more about you and your quilting history in the magazine!
I love this quilt!
What a great quilt. Love the name. So true to life.
Visually strong, yet very soft quilt!
Love your quilt. Your quilting is amazing. I have been doing some machine quilting today- really easy straight line and I'm so disappointed with how it is turning out. I learned by hand quilting and really want to add this to my abilities but it is going to take lots more practice.
Sorry to hear that things are a little out of whack these days, but from one who is having the same funky winter, I truly appreciate this work and completely get what is going on. That super-close quilting makes me feel better about everything! Peace and take care, Byrd
Wow! All of your quilts are grand, but this one is especially fabulous!
I hope you re-balance soon. ;)
Wow! I really love it. I too hope you find the right balance for you very soon.
Well….let's just say you can 'balance' this one right on over to my house!!!

Stunning quilt, absolutely love it. If you figure that balance thing out - let the rest of us know! I sometimes think that feeling is a sign of our times.
