love says it all

I...
this quilt.
it's about loving fabric...
loving the challenge. (6 months in the making!)
A few more rows and it'll be done.
This quilt may put me in the running for 'crazy quilt lady.' I'll wear the title proudly.

It's looking beautiful. Are all the selvages yours saved from other projects?

jacquie said...

rachel,
it started out that way, but selvages disappear quickly! this quilt contains selvages from MANY of my blog friends. i couldn't have done it without them!!

I heart that quilt too. That robin's egg blue color is what really sets it apart from other's I've seen. Is that a Kona--would you mind sharing the color name?

Oh, it's so pretty! I would never be able to sleep under it because I would spend the entire night reading it! LOL!

I cannot imagine the amount of work in this one. And time! It really is so cool.

Wow, that's going to be beautiful when it's done. I had my doubts looking at each separate triangle but all put together, it's quite impressive.

I adore the whole idea of using up the selvages! Perhaps I will start with a pillow. :-)

I'd never have enough selvedges saved to do anything like this - but WOW it's looking great.

Wow, that's an amazing quilt! I love it. It's interesting how so many traditional quilt styles look great done in selvages.

If anyone needs selvages, just ask your guild members, and soon you'll have more than you could ever use! Until they see the cool stuff you make; then they might want to hold onto them.

I have never liked anything with selvages--there just wasn't enough color interest for me. This, however, is the exception. It's absolutely striking!

Unbelievable!!! What patience!

Sharon said...

Love it! Are you stitching the first strip and then inserting the second one under it and top stitching? Is that to reduce bulk?
Just curious, I enjoy seeing how others work through different patterns.

Not crazy, clever! I love how you used a wider piece with an inch or so of the fabric for your last piece before the solids. It's a beaut Jacquie!
