With the Finish Line in Sight

The Spring to Finish Challenge will start on Monday, so you have the weekend to get prepped, make your list, in my case, lists. I have a 'want to' and a 'have to' list. Count your UFO's (unfinished objects), your WIP's (works in progress) and get ready. Be sure to come back on Monday and comment to get in on the action. I'm working on a blog button for us and maybe even a prize or two.
This is my WIP for the Project Plume Challenge at the KC Modern Quilt Guild. The challenge is over and alas I didn't get mine finished. I do love an integrated whirlygiggle quilt...I used what I had left over from my charm pack to put this together the night before the meeting. I know, I'm a lame President. You should have seen all the great quilts our group created. I hope to have pictures to share soon. I'm thinking this might be one of the prizes (if I get it finished!)
Lots of folks asked to see the quilting of this quilt up close...so here it is. Today is the auction, so keep your fingers crossed that it makes some cash.
I finished Wendy's block for my Common Threads quilting bee. She asked for doll representations of ourselves inspired by a quilt in the Material Obsessions book. This is my mini me. I took a little artistic license and made myself tall and thin. Why not?
I think the log cabined dress makes it very me.
I'm trying to get things basted ready for the Spring to Finish Challenge. I didn't do well at all in the Joy in the New Year Challenge, but it's a new time, a new opportunity. I'm going to bust it out!

I am up for the challenge I actually started last week getting all of my tops finished instead of sitting in the need to finish box. I am getting them moved to the need to quilt box. I just got a new quilting machine so I want to really give it a work out.

I love mini-you the fabrics are so pretty!

Thanks for the motivation to get stuff done! I respond well to deadlines and peer pressure. Thanks also for sharing so many great ideas. You inspired me to try decorative stitches in my quilting. I just posted my first attempt. http://appliqueaddict.blogspot.com/2010/04/columbine-quilting.html

How long are we going to have this year?
I just realized that I very first started reading quilting blogs (I believe yours was the first or second I ever read!) when you were about half way through Spring To Finish last year....which blows my mind! I had no idea I'd been in the community (however silently) for a full year. Yay.
I really wanted to participate last year but wasn't as confident in my quilting...not sure if I will have the time to commit this year either but I might give it a go anyway.

Will you be posting a code for a new button for our blogs?

oh goodie! I know I will at least get one of my UFOs finished due to this challenge, maybe more! Must go sort out my stacks and see what's what. Love all the inspiation you provide for us, and of course you're tall and thin - aren't we all?
Good luck with the auction today.

Yay! I'll try again this year. Last year I didn't quilt "Spring to Finish" I have to admit.
Love the doll block. So cute!

Looking forward to participating this year. I did have some finishes last year but it took until the second deadline to get them done!

So I'm with Courtney, can't wait until Monday to find out how long we will have to get the projects done!

Yay, Jacquie! Thanks for the incentive to make a list. I love the tall, thin you. I recognized that block immediately as I picked that quilt to make for my new niece. As always, your blog got me motivated and now I'll attack the blocks I've got laying on the kitchen table.

Hmmm. I will need to read preceding blogs more closely to figure out the list thing. But, I really like the whirly giggle and the doll representation. You are amazing with three different, I mean almost completely different, quilt styles in one post! I've been thinking about the meaning of Modern Quilting and gathering ideas and examples. I am calling around Denver looking for the new Stitch magazine. Thanks for the headsup.

Yay! :) Guess you outbid everyone to win that beautiful quilt? Um, that would be ME! :) I can't wait to get it all set up in it's place of honor. Thanks so much for doing this and helping us raise a LOT of funds for the JDRF. I don't have full totals yet but they're looking good! We'll talk soon. Thanks again!

I finally snagged a copy of Stitch today. Finally! Awesome to see your name in it. I mean, I knew I would see it there, but still....So cool!

Your "mini me" block is so great!

I'm so excited to get my UFO's out of the closet, onto the sewing machine, and finished! I'll have to round them all up and see what the list looks like...

Yipeee!!! This is just what I need!!

5, my goal is 5. I have significantly more UFO's than that, but I've picked 5 to spring to finish!

Thanks for giving me the push I need!

Started on the Spring to Finish early this weekend. I pinned and began quilting a top I finished last fall. I have had the back for 3 months, so it hasn't been sitting around for as long as some others. This top also falls into another Bee I'm in, which is "Me" - as in make a quilt for "me". This quilt is all ME.
