A Mr. Roger's Feeling

Mr. Roger's Neighborhood has been described as having a "quiet simplicity and gentleness." My boys loved spending some time in their day with Mr. Rogers. This quilt gives me that "Mr. Roger's feeling". I love the baby fabric. I love that I found it at the Salvation Army thrift store. I love the aqua binding. I love that it's finished. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

It came out so cute! The quilting looks great. Sometimes I feel pressure (self imposed) to master the free hand style, but I like your lines and such. It is all I can do to manage large amounts of quilt in my standard machine. I like to thrift Store shop too. I've been reading Tallgrass w/o commenting lately but love your recent work. The bookmarks were clever and SO small/detailed! I like how your Star QAL came out. I'm still working on mine.

I love it!! The calm peachy colors....mmmm! Once again you have made a beautiful quilt!
And....I find quilted lines to be much more unforgiving than freemotion (not that I find freemotion easy AT ALL!). But when straight quilting lines cross, you really have to trust your basting-abilities! I can't do it :-(

The colors are so mellow and peaceful. Wish my boys loved Mr. Rogers. The only thing they like about it is the trolley ('it would really be so much better if it were a train, mom' my oldest says.)

Your quilt embodies the warmth and simple messages of a gentle man. We certainly could use more of those strengths in this world.
It is a lovely quilt, serene and with a gently glow of comfort.

Beautiful, Jacquie! I love it.

BTW, I feel bad when I can't get to read other blogs too, but alas, there is so little time in the day!

I love the quilt, love the soft look, REALLY love the vintage graphic print with baby faces! Everything you do is so inspired, I wonder if you have to think about what to do with a piece or does it just pop into your head?

Thanks too for the mention of Mr. Rogers - fond memories. Have a great weekend!

What a sweet, sweet quilt! You're a good finder!!! And my two sons hung out with Mr. Rogers when they were wee little lads too. I loved Mr. Rogers' gentle, reassuring ways. There's no one on TV like that anymore and that's just sad.

It is a very pretty quilt and I love the blue lining. Mr. Rogers was one of the first tv programmes I used to watch daily when I moved to Philadelphia in 1981. I loved him and the way he spoke, very slowly. My English vocabulary wasn't that big at the time but Mr. Rogers I could understand and he also taught me a couple of new words.
