Monet's Top Continued

Monet's Flower Garden is now a top. Well, sort of. I think I'm going to go searching at my local thrifts to see if I can find a few pillow cases that I could add. It's not quite as big as I want it to be. This center section is my favorite. It has the look I was going for. I wouldn't call it a complete success, but I think I'll like it once it's done. I appreciated Wanda's suggestions on sewing triangles and both Elizabeth and Wanda had a needle recommendation that made such a difference. I would add that as soon as I remembered (after two rows) to press the seams open, it all proceeded much more smoothly.

Aren't these pretty? My mom and I are working on a collaborative quilt. She's doing the embroidery and I'm doing the rest. These are rejects...wrong color thread. I think I can make something cute with these.

It is beautiful!
I have an extra pillow cases, that are floral and didn't match with my blue and green quilt. I can send you photos and if you like them they are yours.

I love how the quilt is turning out. I have been collecting vintage sheets for two quilts - one green and yellow, and one blue and white. I have plenty of left overs if you'd be interested in doing some swapping with any scraps you have left over. If so, let me know and I can send some photos of what I've got. Or even if you don't have scraps, but are interested, let me know.

Monet is beautiful! I just can't imagine being able to sew all of those pieces together and having it turn out half so lovely.
I am eager to see what you and your mother come up with! It is truly a blessing and a wondrous thing (to me) that you and your mother are able to share in such a lovely and collaborative endeavor. It makes me smile to imagine mother and daughter, needles stitching in harmony and love.

Your quilt is coming along just lovely. I do so like the colors you've chosen.

Those two red work pieces would look beautiful framed.

I'm making a red work quilt with an old friend, she's 82, and didn't quite know how to do it. She did all of the embroidery and I'm helping her put it together. I will post some pictures of it on my site soon. Can't wait to see your moms and yours.

I think it's working well and a lovely idea. I saw the garden in Giverney a few years ago. Even the colours inside Monet's house were inspiring.
