Chipping Away

I didn't do very well in my own challenge. I wanted to start the new year with a clean slate, but since that didn't happen I made a list. Well, a couple of lists. Tops that need to be quilted (they also need backs made), and projects that are in the construction phase. I'm hanging all the tops in my studio so they're right there in front of my face reminding me to finish them.

I wonder if I could have all those tops finished in 6 weeks, by the end of February? That's what I'm aiming for. I've gotta have a goal, or I simply spin my wheels and start new projects. I have a sketchbook brimming with ideas....

Proposal Moon has been added to the list of tops. I'm so happy with it! The moons seem to glow in the night sky.

Jacquie - I LOVE this top and really want to try something with the circles - wonder if I could use plates as templates and leave a seam allowance? That will be one of my 'idea book' projects as I too have plenty of UFO's to complete.

Proposal Moon is very neat! Can't wait to see how you quilt it! Lists! I did the same thing. I've moved my sewing area to a different room and unearthed several forgotten WIP. Hopefully this is the year to finish them!

The moons are awesome!
Deadlines can be great motivators so long as you don't beat yourself up if you miss it.

This is absolutely the best!!

You have outdone yourself on this one.

I know what you mean about finishing things. I was part of your challenge but did not complete a thing. I got them further along but they are not done. Maybe by February...

I know what you mean about finishing, Jacquie. I made good progress with your challenge but there is still more to be done. I better quit blogging and go get busy. :-) Have a good weekend!

I think the quilt looks fantastic. Love the colours. We had a couple of massive dust storms here is Sydney, Australia last year and it kind of reminds me of that time. The sky was this eerie orange colour as the dust had been blown all the way from the dentre of Australia. I am also trying to finish some bindings before I start something new. Let's keep motivated and get them finished.

I didn't get too many finishes before the end of the year either, so don't feel bad.
I have a list on my white board and I'm going to try and check those off before the end of February as well.
I love your quilt BTW.

I just adore everything about this quilt so far. The colors, the circles, the fabric, the meaning behind it, everything.

I love how this quilt is turning out! I am so glad you went with the number of circles you had and didn't add a lot more of them. I think the ones you have now say it all!

Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
