Finished...Whew!

Just in time too. This quilt is going to be part of an auction in Omaha for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It's made up of blocks from this tutorial (nice to know I could make use of them) and I made a few additional sections to make it a little bigger. I hope it raises a good amount of money. My nephew was recently diagnosed and it's a tough road for adults and even more challenging when you're a youngster.
Has spring sprung where you are? I spent a few minutes outside with my camera today capturing this year's redbuds in bloom. The woods surrounding our house are sprinkled with the purply pink lace of redbud blossoms. Rejuvenation and rebirth surrounding me inspire a fresh attitude and the feeling that I can accomplish anything.
I was thinking that it may be time for another Spring to Finish Challenge. Anyone up for that? I don't have loads of time to organize anything too complex, but I'm inspired...maybe we could be inspired together? Let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can put together.

Your quilt looks amazing, well done!
I haven't done a Spring to Finish before but it sounds exciting! I have so many projects to finish and unfortunately not a lot of time this year, but I am sure this would help inspire me to finish all those UFO's, so I would love to join the challenge :)

I need to Spring to Finish. There is something about a common goal to inspire and motivate.

Whoever lands that selvage quilt will be a lucky soul. I hope the bidding goes out of control. :-)

I love how this quilt turned out! I am excited to be trying out my first spiderweb blocks. I'm sure it will generate lots of money for that charity. I would be up for joining the spring to finish. It's a better time for me than Christmas, so I might have a chance to get some things done!

Oh, yes, please, PLEASE! I so need a kick in the butt to finish half a dozen or more projects. Some of them are left over from the last Spring to Finish - I failed big time on the last one.

Beautiful quilt, and such a generous act.

It's kind of funny how just signing up for Joy in the New Year motivated me — I actually felt accountable, even though there was no real consequence for not meeting my goal. So, yes, please! I'm in for a Spring to Finish challenge.

so funny that you posted the "spring to finish" question...i was just thinking about it yesterday! i'd be up for it since i have a HUGE list of projects to work on.

the quilt is lovely and i'm sure it'll fetch a good amount for the diabetes research. my son did a school walk for diabetes last month and came home monday with a certificate and medal for being the top fundraiser for the entire school. he's just in 1st grade!! hooray for our kids!

Generous - the quilt up for auction, your sharing of the tutorial, and another spring to finish challenge. I'm in if you do it. I spent a little while this morning playing with the tutorial, cutting out the template, I may have a go at it later today.

I would definitely be up for a Spring to Finish challenge! It'd be a good motivation to clear out my project closet for the rest of the year.

Great auction quilt - but then your quilts are always great. *S*

Since I won a really good prize in the last finish contest, of course I think it would be good to Spring to Finish.

Jacquie, that's a great and noble cause--I worked as a counselor one summer for a camp for girls with diabetes, and it was a huge learning experience. Those are some tough kids, growing up with one more challenge.

And you know you can always count on me to join a challenge--I'd certainly be up for a "group inspiration" style Spring to Finish. Maybe a Flickr group for it?

Poppyprint said...

That's a fantastic donation, Jacquie. You inspire me with all the good you do with your work. I'm sorry to hear about your nephew - diabetes is indeed a challenge especially for kids.

I could definitely use a Spring to Finish motivation! I've had a few quilts pin basted for MONTHS, and one that just needs the binding finished...

Great quilt contribution. Someone is going to love that in their home. I could use a spring to finish to finalize the quilt gifts I started at Christmas.

Love the selvedge spiderweb quilt! I’m sure it will raise a lot of money!

Spring has definitely sprung. We have clear blue skies without air traffic due to the vulcanic ashes from Iceland. It‘s such a pleasure to have no airflight noices!

I think it’s a great idea to join the Spring to Finish Challenge. Let’s see what I get achieved this year...!
