This is my 100th post. I started blogging in January of 2008 with the intention of simply doing an online journal of my work. At the time I didn't realize the extent of the online community of crafters. I have enjoyed seeing and reading about your creations and your lives. I have developed my craftmanship and my aesthetics in large part due to the supportive, creative people that I have connected with through this blog. I marvel at the kindness and generosity of people who I have never met. It always amazes me what a kind word or a supportive comment will do to motivate or inspire me. I try to do the same for others in the blog community. So, thanks for coming by, for reading, for being part of my blog. Now for the celebration.
No party is complete without cake. The cake today is generously provided by Kajsa of Syko fame. She's a fabulous Finnish quilt artist. If you haven't visited her blog, drop everything and go now. She has the most wonderful, unique design sense. I love the whimsical feeling of her work. Right now she has a quilt up for auction on ebay to benefit Chinese orphans. Check it out and make a bid! The cake has zero calories, but is chocked full of creativity, inspiration and fabulous fabric. Don't we all need a piece of that every once and awhile!
In addition to cake there is a present. This quilt in the pictures below will go to one of you attending my party. This is my first mini quilt. I signed up for a mini quilt swap and I've been practicing and this little 8" square quilt is the result. The front is the "Pretty in Pink" side with little pink print pinwheels. The back is the "Wonky Log Cabin" side. Isn't that fun, it's reversible! This crinkled beauty can be yours.
So if you would like to attend the party, celebrate with me and try to take home the present, simply leave a comment and let me know which side of this little pink quilt you like the best and why. The party won't last forever. You need to arrive and leave your comment by Thursday at 9:00 p.m. Central Time. I will announce the recipient Friday morning. Please be sure there is a way I can contact you either by blog or email. I would love to send it off before I leave on Saturday for my 25th wedding anniversary celebration trip with my hubby!
Oh love it. Congrats on your blog annivesary and your 25th Wedding Anniversary. Very special...mine was last year. Anyway...LOVE the mini...both sides...but I'll choose the wonky log cabin side because it's different and I like different.
Hi, Congrats on your 100th post and your 25 years with DH. Your blog inspired me to start one too. I like your mini-quilt. Which side? I like the pinwheels - it shows your talent with triangles recently gained.
oooh! party at your place and at mine? how fun! i like the pinwheel side. i've been so excited about the "new" modern style of quilting and most of the more traditonal patterns do nothing for me, but i've seen this pinwheel design in several different places and just LOVE the whimsy.
Congratulations on your 100th post!
Post #100! Congratulations!! The miniquilt is gorgeous! On both sides! I'm always impressed with triangles, though, so my favourite is the pinwheels-side :-)
Congrats on both your 25th anniversary and your blog anniversary!!! I love the pinwheel side - lately pinwheels are a favorite of mine!!
Happy Birthday!!! and Happy Anniversary!!!!!
I like the wonky side for its effect and color combination and because I find it more original than the pinwheels..... And because I associate it more with you and your wonky blocs!!!!! It's more "you" (at least the idea I have of you since I don't know you personally)
Have a great trip!!! Have fun!!!!!!
that's impossible. they are both beautiful. I think I really like the pinwheels side, it has even inspired me to start a pinwheel cute.
But I do love the log cabin.
Pinwheels - because I love how the pattern repeats.
Congratulations on reaching 100 posts, and an even bigger congrats on the anniversary. I love both sides but I have to admit I'm partial to the pinwheels. When I first looked at it, it reminded me of a Japanese orchid garden, don't ask me why, it just does.
Happy Blog Anniversary and Wedding Anniversary!
It has been wonderful to meet you in blogland. I enjoy reading your post and to see all your crafty stuff!
Which side... I love them both, but lately I have a thing for pinwheels. maybe because I finally ‘got’ what it takes to make them.
Congrats! It's a lot of work to do 100 posts. I'm almost there, but not quite.
So I love both sides of the quilt - but I think I am 'into' the wonky log cabin side more. I love that you see more of each fabric, and that it's not perfect and straight - just like us humans!!!
You are an inspirational blogger and quilter.
Congratulations on your blogiversary and your anniversary! Where will you be going for your trip with hubby?
I LOVE the mini quilt! How cute! I really like both sides, but I think the log cabin side is my favorite.
Congrats on 100 posts and 25 year anny they are both accomplishments!
Love the mini quilt, just adorable.
hmmm hard to decide
I am going to say the log cabin, very traditional block, says home to me. the idea thats its a bit wonky...hey that will make me smile every time I look at it and remember life is about living and stop worrying about everything being perfect.
congrats on reaching 100 so quickly! I love the pinwheel side because I've been on a pinwheel kick lately : ) Both sides are gorgeous though!
100 posts AND 25 years! Congrats! I know exactly what you mean about learning so much and honing your skills because of this amazing crafty blogging community of ours.
I like the pinwheel side the best. Not sure why...the design just appeals to me. I'm always a sucker for pink. :-)
Well you certainly have a lot of celebrating going on lately! Congrats on both 25 and 100. Bet you never thoughts you could be congratted for both 100 and 25 at the same time before huh?
Well, I love both sides alot. I love the quilting of it too. If I had to settle down and pick a side I would say the log cabin side, because I have been loving log cabins lately.
Congratulations! Your mini quilt is adorable! Thanks for the beautiful words about me and my work and thanks for shouting out about the auction. I am following it with excitement!
The best side of the quilt is that it has got two!
Thanks for the invitation to join the party! I love miniatures, both sides are wonderful, but I love the pinwheels. Congratulations on 100 posts and also on your anniversary!
A reversable miniquilt. Brilliant. I'd have to say the log cabin side is my favorite. Probably because I haven't tried that pattern yet and I desperately want to do so.
Oh I'm in. This mini quilt is beautiful and I love both sides. If I have to pick a favorite I'll go with the wonky side cause I'm so infatuated with your wonky log cabin quilts!
I love the pinwheel side. The pink reminds me of cotton candy and the fair...
Congratulations! And guess what - you are one of favorite blogs! I think I've read all 100 of your posts.
Congrats on the 100 mark!! I love your blog and didn't realize you only started in Jan.! Hmm - don't know if I can pick a favorite side - I guess I'm partial to log cabins but only because I can't get any triangle to ever line up right - LOL!
Have a wonderful trip with your hubby!
Happy Blogiversary and your Anniversary! I love Syko's stuff too. Your mini quilt is so cute, I love both sides but the pinwheels are my favorite.
Oooh! A blog-iversary and a hubbi-versary!!! You really know how to celebrate with a bang. (Love the cake too, by the way. Thanks for the link. I always like looking up new-to-me artists.)
I love the wonky log side. The linear feel just always *does it* for me. And I don't know why...just does! And I really dig your less-is-more quilting approach. Very chic! Well done!
Happy celebrating, Jacquie!!!
i love both sides! i love the wonky side because it's wonky, and i love the traditional pinwheel mixed with cute modern prints. So cute!
Congratulations on reaching such a milestone! I just celebrated 5 years, can't wait until I can say it is my 25th. I adore both sides, but my favorite is the wonky side because I have been learning how to do those due to you!
Congrats on the 100th. It's a hard choice but I think pretty in pink. I would love a piece of that cake. I hope you have a lovely weekend for your 25th.
Wow! A hundred posts already. That's great. And Happy Anniversary. I like the pinwheel side. I don't know why - because I do love your wonky log cabins.
You mean I have to choose a side? I love them both. Congratulations on your 100th post and 25 years with DH.
I would have to say the pinwheel side is my fav. I am starting to get into the wonky log cabin. The log cabin quilts have never been a fav but when they are made a little wonky their fun starts to show. Beautiful quilt.
It looks great!! my favourite side is the pinwheels, it's so cheerful an fun!
Congratulations on your 100th post!
Happy 100 posts, and wishing you a wonderful 25th wedding anniversary! Love your mini quilt - the pinwheel side is my favourite as I am a big fan of pinwheels - love the illusion of movement. Syko's celebration card is so cute.
Congrats on the 100th post!
Also congrats on the anniversary! Hope you have a WONDERFUL time :-)
Hard to pick one side of the mini quilt 'cause both sides are so cute. Love the fabrics you used! Going with the pinwheels since I think it showcases the fabric a wee bit better. But again, that's a tough call!
Just recently found your blog, during one of those hopping-from-one-to-another sprees :-) It's now bookmarked and I will return regularly.
Happy 100th post! You sure got there quickly!! Have a wonderful anniversary! Your mini quilt is beautiful. I think it would look great at my house!! LOL.
Wow! I just discovered your blog via the flickr mini quilt swap I am in too, love your stylr! Very funky! I like the pin wheel side of this little quilt the best. Nothing like triangles on crisp white! Lovely!
Congrats on your blog birthday! I like botth sides but if I have to choose...then the pinwheels because I never piece pinwheels! :)
Congratulations on your 100th! I have so enjoyed reading your blog and seeing all the fabulous quilts you create. I love your sense of color. As for the quilt, I like the pinwheel side the best because I'm a nut for anything circular. Now, you may say, these are triangular, not circular. I still always imagine them spinning and, therefore, we get the circle. i know how hard it is to make all those points, too.
Yay, 100! Congratulations! I am with you, the support and inspiration from the crafting community is amazing...that's how I got to my 100th post. But about that mini, so cute! I love the log cabin block, one of my favorite patterns. Plus, yours is wonky and I love the word "wonky!"
Congrats. I just had my 100th swap too and am doing a swap so stop over and see if you would like to join. I love both sides so it's hard to decide but if I had to choose one I would the log cabin side.
I love the wonky log cabin side probably because I can't wait to try a wonky log cabin block my self. I'm new to quilting and am excited to try all kinds of new ideas and techniques. Congratulations on 100 posts! Well done!
Congratulations on both anniversaries! I guess I like the pinwheel side the best--but I'm a traditionalist at heart. Hope you have lots and lots of fun on your trip!
Happy 100th post! And happy 25th anniversary! I hope you have a wonderful celebration! I love the pinwheel side the best, I am fond of pinwheels as seen in my sidebar. Especially Quilt in A Day Double Pinwheel, I have made 3 of those to date. Although I do have a fondness for the log cabin as well. Good luck to all!
That is so exciting to have a 100th post! I love your blog and appreciate the time you put into posting for us. I like the pinwheels side best because I have always loved the look of pinwheels. I like how your eye can catch pinwheels all in the same fabric and also ones made up of four different fabrics. Cute mini-quilt! So sweet!
Congratulations on both reasons to celebrate! You are far more prolific than I!
I think I like the wonky side, because it was a whole new idea for me! Either one is beautiful, though.
LOL!! I'm so ready for a Mac it isn't funny! Congrats on your 100th post! I know that I love every one I've read so far and keep looking forward to the next :) Have a fantabulous Wednesday!
A very big congrats on your blog anniversery!! I love the side with the pinwheels, it has so much movement to it ! Though I love the log cabin side also because it's wonky and that tends to draw me because it's diffrent. Hope you have a wonderful day
congrats on your 100th post! and on your 25th wedding anniversary, too. (you can leave me out of the draw, though, as I already have one of your beautiful quilts!)
Happy 100! (and nearly happy anniversary too!!)
I love both sides, but the pinwheels 1st, because I just cannot EVER get my pinwheels lined up so perfectly. Nice work!
Oh no, your making me choose sides? I am so torn! I love them both so. Ok fine, I will have to go with wonky log cabin side because it kind of represents my life and my personality. A little off center and a bit wonky. And the colors of the whole thing are like peppermint ice cream! Mmmmmmm. Great Job hun on 100 posts and the quilt. And, Happy Anniversary!
Ooh, its very pretty. I love the pinwheel side becuase I am a natural pattern seeker and I'm drawn to patterns and repeats and symetry. Lovely little quilt! Also, love your blog.
congrats on your 100th post, and on the wedding anniversary - hope you have a wonderful trip. I love the log cabin, but am in awe of your triangles!
Hello! Congrats on your blog anniversary and your 25th wedding anniversary as well. How exciting to be married for 25 years! I LOVE the little quilt. :)
Congratulations, Jacquie --> wedding and blogging!
I love, love the pinwheels. It looks just like something women of long ago made for their daughters' doll crib. It is simply lovely.
I love both sides, but um, maybe the pinwheels a little more. Have a great time celebrating your anniversary!
Wow! You are a posting machine! Congrats on your 100th post. I've been reading your blog pretty much since you started We started about the same time, and I still remember you posting a comment on mine the first time, I am sooo glad you found my blog and I found yours!! I love both sides of the mini quilt, but I'd have to say my favorite side is the pinwheels just cause I am more a traditional kind of girl. Have a great time celebrating your Anniversary!!!
oh girl! I love those little pinwheels cuz I'd NEVER in a MILLION years attempt to work with such TEENY TINY triangles!!!
Well, congrats on your 100 posts! You have a very lovely place here. But even more congrats on your 25 years! What an accomplishment!!!!
Have a great trip!
Congratulations on your 100th post! And your 25 year anniversary! Where are you going to celebrate? That is so exciting. I am nowhere near that (100th psot or anniversary!) I love the mini quilt, I like the pinwheel side the best. I love pinwheels and how they look!
Happy bloggy anniversary! I love both sides but I think I like the lob cabbin side best. I just love your wonky quilts! Happy 25th! I hope you and your hubby have a great weekend!
I like the pinwheel side because my little guy loves twirly thingies!
Congrats on your 100th post. You should also be really proud of your 25 years with your husband. I'm just under 4 with mine, with three kids already! I think I like the front of your cute mini-quilt the best...the pinwheels seem to dance right out of the photo!
happy bloggy birthday.
i've enjoyed seeing what you create - i've loved all your quilts.
enjoy your anniversary celebrations.
I just love the fabrics that you used for this mini quilt, so darling. My favorite side is the pin-wheels I just think they are so fun, and have been thinking about trying them out sometime.
Wow, lovin' the pink. I like the log cabin side, but my daughter likes the pin wheels, so we'll take it either way!!! Thanks so much. I really like your blog! Love those hour glass blocks also.
Congrats on 100th post!
Both sides are nice, but i'm partial to pinwheels!
mmm thanks, yummy cake.
And happy birthday, I keep finding people born in June... nice month eh?
On Sunday it's my birthday... hurray!!!
Wow 100 posts...my blog friend in New York state just celebrated hers too and we started at the same time...last July or August I think. No chance of me catching up to you anytime soon.
Think I am still in with time to spare as it is 11.05 pm Thursday here but only Thursday am with you?
So congratulations on the blogging and also the anniversary...ours is in September!!
Almost forgot I love the wonky side, the wonkier the better for me.
How is your foot? My husband severed the artery in his finger at work the other day....yikes!!!
Happy 25th wedding anniversary to you and your husband and congrats on your 100th post. You want to know which side I like best of the mini-quilt? I love both sides, the pinwheels and the log cabin although they each have a very different feel. The pinwheels are more classy and formal. The log cabin has much more of an easy going feel to it.
Lovely mini-quilt. Funny thing: I just went through the recent quilt magazines (I subscribe to them all) and there was a wonderful tip in, I think, Fons & Porter about making a little wallet out of plastic zip-loc bags for holding tools & snippets, etc. Now, me -- I'd put the pinwheels on the outside, and call the wallet "Proud Mary." But that's just me. (If the winning commenter wants more info, get in touch.)
I Love the back! Happy 100th!
Congratulations on both the blog celebration - but alsao your 25th Anniversary!
I love the pinwheel side - it is adorable!!!
Happy 100th and I love the fabric you sent Amandajean for the swap! As for the little quilt, I couldn't pick a side ~ they're both too cute!!
Congratulations! The pinwheel side is great -- whimsical and it fits just so beautifully with all the colors!
Happy 100th post!
I love the pretty in pink side because I love pinwheels and I think the fabrics stand out more.
I looked at your little quilt and thought, no question the pinwheel side, and then after I looked I liked the other side better and better, I'm not sure why, it is just quirky and interesting. So, I changed my vote.
I just found your blog today. I cannot remember which blogger sent me your way. I loved the story about your son Ben's birth. Your 25th anniversary--what a wonderful milestone to celebrate! Congratulations on your 100th post, too! I really like your little quilt--both sides, but really like the pinwheel side. I love pinwheels: they are so fresh and fun!
The quilt is sweet. Congrats on the 100th post! Count me in on your party too.
I love the Pinwheel side! I like how it almost looks like stripes, but then when you look close there are all different little colored triangles!
I have only just started quilting and am loving looking at all the different patterns out there that I can attempt someday when I get a rotary cutter and mat!! :0)
Congrats on your 100th post! Wow! Look forward to 100 more!
I think I like the pinwheel side, or the wonky side...
Oh, I don't know! Both sides are cute!
Hello I'm new here and just found your blog on flickr whilst looking for log cabin inspiration! Needless to say, I love the log cabin side best! Congrats on your 100th post.
Congrats on your 100th post! Found my way here from Amandajean at Crazy Mom Quilts. Love the baby quilt! Looking forward to going through your 1st 99 posts. :)
I love it! I love it! I love it! I can't pick which side I like better. Both side are perfect ... so are the colors.
Oh, how gorgeous! I love it! I think the pinwheel side is my favorite, altho I love both sides!
Love your blog! I have you listed as on of my favorite blogs to visit. Congratulations! I agree with you that there are some really great bloggers out here that I, too, enjoy so much!
you are cute and creative to do a give away on your 100th post - i might have to do the same thing whenever i get there. i love your quilt period!! so pretty in pink. my favorite side however is the pinwheel - i go crazy over pinwheels!! they remind me of a blanket full of flowers. maybe i'll get enough courage to attempt one. thanks for lettin me hop on over and take a peek.
Wow, what a great quilt... and congrats on your 100th post and your wedding anniversary!
Isn't it just amazing how many great people are "out there"... people we would never have "met" if it wasn't for blogging.
My favourite side of your quilt is the pinwheels... because... I just have a thing for pinwheels at the moment. I really want to try making some myself. I love the colours you've used in this quilt by the way.
Congrats on your 100th post and on your 25th anniversary!
I love both sides of your beautiful little quilt!! I love the colors and I love both patterns. I'm gonna say that the pinwheel side is my favorite though because I love the way they look. I've tried making a pinwheel and haven't had any success yet. I really love them though :)
Congratualtions on the 100th blog but especially the 25 years!
Congratulations on your 100th post~
I love the pinwheel side of the quilt, it's gorgeus.
Count me in! congrats on the birthday of your blog. I love that cake. Love. Gotta check out her blog. Keep posting!
Pretty in Pink is my favorite but I love anything resembling a Log Cabin. I would have thought that you were a blogger for years, your site is so professional. How do you do it and quilt, too? I love to quilt, have just moved and am not 'settled' yet and so haven't found a comfy place to set-up. Your blog is inspiring, I wish I had found it sooner and I could have been going week-by-week with you. But there is always catch-up, right? Thanks for inviting me to your party. Happy 25 years!
happy blogiversary to you!!! found your link through CrazyMom blog.. happy anniversary to you as well..
I love everything! LOL
I have a triangle phobia, but I am getting there (learnt to make them bigger then trim those suckers down) I like the log cabin too, but prefer the triangles!
Congtatulations 100 posts and 25 years of marriage...that is awesome...I like both sides but I think the wonky log cabin side has just a little bit more character...Congrats again, love coming to your blog...
Love the simple whimsy of the wonky log cabin, very appealing, but I imagine in person the mini-pinwheels are just too precious! Congrats on your anniversaries!
Happy blogiversary! and Anniversary! Wooo Hooo! I love both sides of the mini. I love the color and wonkiness of the log cabin and the whimsy and movement of the pinwheels! I just found you through "Crazy Mom Quilts".
Happy Happy Blog Anniversary! How exciting for you to have so many blog followers.
Well, to be honest I love both sides but my favorite side if I had to choose is the Pinwheel side. I just love Pinwheels.
Wow - 100 posts that quick??? I just had my 100th post too, but it was about a year and a half. I love your little quilt - I can't chose sides... I've always loved pinwheels, and the wonkiness of the log cabin side is SO 'me'... I love it altogether! I think it makes it more special when things are not quite 'perfect'. Congrats on the 100th post, and I wish you many many more!!!
Love the pinwheel side - just because they remind me of childhood. Thanks for your beautiful website.
100 posts.......WOW!!!!!!!!!! I have a very long way to go before I hit 100. CONGRATS!!! I love the pinwheel side because of I love pinwheels and I love the "other" side because it's just plain fun! The colors are very very cool and I guess that's why I love both sides;)
i'm a sucker for pinwheels!
congrats on the 100th post, love your blog
Love the pin wheels, just love them. I have had a red and white one to do for years, its a classic and will never go out of style, so a few more years wont hurt.
I actually like both sides.
Congratulations on you blog anniversary. That's a lot of blogging!
I love the mini. I would have to choose the pinwheel side as that has always been one of my favorite blocks.
Isn't it wonderful to have 25 years of marriage going for you? That is a remarkable accomplishment these days. We just celebrated our 39th and it is so nice.
So sorry I missed the party and a chance to own one of your lovely creations. Happy 100th!
happy 100th post!
what a lot since the beginning of the year!
Congrats on your 100th post
Wow! Jacquie! over 100 comments! wow! is there any doubt that I would like the log cabin side :-)?
congrats on your blogiversary and your anniversary!
Congratulations on 100 posts. I love your mini quilt, and I too have been dabbling with them lately. I like the pinwheels best as they make my eyes see movement in the quilt.
Just found your blog, and just finished my first mini-quilt top last weekend--actually my first quilt of any kind. I love wonkiness, and I LOVE your color/pattern choices. You have a great eye. I've also been obsessed with log cabin-ness since I started knitting a few years ago, and I've been working on a knitted log cabin blanket forever. Anyway, happy anniversaries. If I had to choose I'd say the log cabin side (but I LOVE the pinwheels, too).
Happy 100th post and 25th anniversary! Which side?....I'm a sucker for pinwheels!
Visit me at http://hellosista.blogspot.com/
Well congrat's on both your blog anniversary and your 25th anniversary.... I just love the mini quilt, which side do I like best, probably the pinwheel side, I guess that's what it's called, but first I just like the whole quilt because it is pink and it makes me think of my 18 month old granddaughter, plus my favorite color is pink...what hard work and time you must have put into that beautiful quilt, I admire anyone who has that much talent. I just found your blog today but have already bookmarked it...come visit me at my blog--no quilts there, at least not yet, maybe someday..
Oh and have fun on your trip..
